April"Hello, my little raspberry," Harry kissed Catalina's belly. He laid his head on her stomach as she lied on their bed.
"Your little raspberry had me throwing up as soon as I came home up until a half hour ago," Catalina mentioned, threading her through her husband's hair.
Being just eight weeks pregnant, Catalina already knew this pregnancy would be different from the last. Her mind and body felt different. She was more relaxed, prepared and not that anxious. Both of them knew that it would be a bit difficult with Arlo in the picture. Catalina was nervous as to how he would react when they tell him.
"I'm sure she didn't mean it."
Cata's hand stopped. "Who?"
"The baby," Harry explained.
"Oh, it's a she, isn't it? Since when?" Catalina raised her eyebrows at him.
"Since she told me this morning when I talked to her before I went to work."
Harry had just come home from work and from picking up his son at the nursery. Catalina took half of the day off; she only worked in the morning until around one in the afternoon. Nobody in their circle was aware of the news yet. They decided to wait until she reached the twelve weeks mark to tell them all, like they did for her first pregnancy.
Catalina hummed, closing her eyes, her nails scratching his head. "Where's Arlo?"
With his eyes closed, Harry mumbled, "Nap."
As soon as the word left his lips, they both nodded off to sleep.
An hour later, Lina woke up naturally. When she looked down, Harry's head was on her chest. Carefully, she moved so he wouldn't wake up. After successfully getting out of bed, she trotted to Arlo's room, only to see him still asleep in his cot. In the midst of her two boys sleeping, she decided to take a much needed shower. Afterwards, she changed into a matching pair of silk pajamas.
A soft mumma made her leave the room and just as she predicted, her son was up. "Hi, baby, good nap, yeah?" Arlo nodded as she picked him up, his head resting on her shoulder. "Hungry?" Another nod.
A few minutes later, Arlo was sitting in his high chair next to the kitchen island with his mother next to him as they both ate cut up fruit from a bowl. "Ape," Arlo showed Catalina a small piece of a green grape.
"That's a grape, yes," she chuckled.
"Having fun without me?" Harry pouted, walking into the kitchen. He planted a kiss on Arlo's head before popping a piece of strawberry in his mouth.
"Always," Catalina cutely smiled at him.
"I see how it is."
"Ape, daddy," Arlo interrupted their banter, holding a grape towards him.
Harry gasps dramatically. While Catalina rolled her eyes, trying to hide a smile, Arlo giggled. "For me?"
"Yes, dada," he laughed. "Fo' you."
Harry leaned down and opened his mouth and Arlo took the hint. "Mmm, yummy," he emphasized as he chewed.
"When do you think we should tell him?"
"About the—" Harry gestured to her stomach. Catalina hummed, giving him a nod. "Whenever you want to, darling. It's up to you."
"I think we should wait until I reach my second trimester. Once the pregnancy is well-established, and I feel comfortable about it, we can tell him and then everyone else."
