"His eyes deepened with intensity as he dug himself deeper onto me, igniting a fire within."

LILA'S POV
"The Devil in Armani? What does that mean?" I asked, curiosity flooding my senses as I sat cross-legged on Lincoln's couch.
His friends were sprawled around the room—Daniel, Chris, Emily, and Kaira—snacking and laughing, the atmosphere relaxed and easy.
I had mentioned my new job with Mr. Devereaux, and their conversation had quickly shifted to the enigmatic title associated with him.
"Seriously, you've never heard of that?" Emily raised an eyebrow, looking genuinely surprised.
"Not until now," I admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Why? Is it bad?"
"Bad? It's legendary!" Daniel chimed in, leaning forward with an excited grin. "He's this ruthless CEO who can turn a deal on a dime and has a reputation for being cold as ice. They say he's charming but can also be a total nightmare."
"Like, he'll smile at you while simultaneously tearing you apart," Chris added, smirking. "You have to be on your toes around him."
"Why Armani, though?" I pressed, still puzzled. "Does he wear fancy suits or something?"
Kaira laughed, nodding. "Oh, absolutely. He's always dressed to the nines. You can't be the 'Devil in Armani' without looking the part."
I couldn't help but chuckle at their descriptions, but beneath my laughter, a twinge of unease settled in.
Was I really walking into the lion's den? The thought sent a shiver down my spine, but the excitement of the unknown also ignited a spark within me.
"But he doesn't seem so bad when I got interviewed by him," I said, shrugging my shoulders. "I mean, he's intimidating, but he's cool."
The room fell silent for a moment, and my friends exchanged skeptical glances.
"Cool?" Chris echoed, raising an eyebrow. "Lila, he's got a reputation for being a total hardass. Are you sure you're ready for that?"
"Yeah," Kaira chimed in, a teasing smile on her face. "You say he's cool now, but wait until you see him in action. The devil has a way of charming you right before he sends you packing."
I laughed, trying to brush off their concerns.
"I can handle it. I mean, I've dealt with worse at college. Plus, I thrive in high-pressure situations. It's not like I'm just some wallflower who'll wither under his glare."
Emily leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"What did he even look like? Did you catch a glimpse of those Armani suits?"
I couldn't help but grin, the memory of our meeting flashing in my mind.
"He was wearing this sleek black suit that fit him like a glove. He has this presence that commands attention. It's hard to explain, but you can just tell he means business."
"Sounds like you're smitten," Daniel teased, waggling his eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes but felt a warmth spread across my cheeks.
"Oh, please! It's not like that. I'm just trying to keep my head above water in this new job."
"Just be careful, okay?" Lincoln said, his tone shifting to one of genuine concern. "I don't want you getting burned by the devil in a suit."
