A female cannibal that from Native America that lures children into the woods with her beautiful and sweet singing voice. Stories of her originate from the Alsea Native American tribes from the northwest coast of the United States. Asin lives on the edge of forests and woodlands that surround nearby towns and villages. Although she tends to seduce children into the woods, Asin is also known to entice any adult who wanders to close to the woods. According to the writings of Frachtenberg (1920), Asin is particularly fond of children as they make easy targets. Children that are attracted and follow her are never seen again. She can sometimes be heard laughing when she has spotted her next victim. It is said that if a medicine man has a nightmare about this wicked cannibal then that would certainly foreshadow doom and despair for the whole community.
