Leruto

Mira, mamá, mira! I'm doing it, look!" Water flows in front of my pale hands, as if it had a mind of its own.

"Good. Now work on getting it as far away from you before it drops." Being out in the garden is so fun, being able to practice with mamá. It might be more fun with papá. I could not be sure; most of the time, he is at work. It's not that I don't like my father, in fact I love him very much, but we are not very close.

School is six days out of seven, and the seventh day is spent practicing with our Water. We practice what we can do with it, what we should not do, what each of our limits are, and how we can benefit the tribe individually.

It is an exact way of living; there is no time to dwell on anything of unimportance. Even I know this at seven years old.

And at seven years old, I will learn to become the greatest my tribe has ever witnessed, and exceed that. I must; if not, what am I?
