Jordan's POV:

Chapter 36:

Jordan stood outside Kayla's apartment building, balancing a cooler of drinks in one hand and a bag of chips in the other. He looked up at the building, feeling a sense of pride. This was Kayla's space now, her sanctuary. After everything she had been through, she finally had a place that was all hers.

Isaiah pulled up in his truck, stepping out with a few trays of food balanced carefully in his arms. "Man, you got that cooler?" Isaiah called out, grinning as he walked over. "I'm not tryna drop all this before we even get inside."

Jordan chuckled, walking over to help him. "Yeah, I got it. Let's not mess up Kay's big day."

The two brothers made their way into the building and up to Kayla's apartment, both feeling a quiet excitement about what the night represented. It wasn't just a housewarming party—it was a celebration of Kayla's new beginning, of all the growth and healing she'd been through.

When they knocked on the door, Kayla answered with a wide smile. She looked happier, more radiant than they had seen her in a long time. "Y'all came loaded!" she laughed, stepping aside to let them in. "I wasn't expecting all this."

Isaiah grinned as he set the trays down on her kitchen counter. "You know we gotta do it big for you, Kay. This is your moment."

Jordan followed behind, setting down the cooler and chips. "Yeah, we're breakin' this place in right. We got drinks, we got food—this is gonna be the best housewarming ever."

Kayla smiled, looking around at her brothers, her heart full of gratitude. "Thank you. For everything. I couldn't have done this without y'all."

Isaiah shook his head, his voice soft. "You did this, Kay. We were just here to help. But you're the one who made it happen."

Before they could say anything else, Lena burst through the door, holding up a bottle of champagne with a big grin on her face. "I brought the good stuff! Let's pop this thing and get the party started."

Kayla laughed, hugging Lena as she entered. "You always know how to show up right on time."

Lena winked, setting the bottle down on the counter. "You know it."

As the evening went on, the apartment filled with laughter and conversation. Kayla's friends from design school stopped by, along with a few of her neighbors, turning the space into a warm, lively gathering. Music played softly in the background, and the scent of the food Isaiah had brought filled the air.

Jordan leaned against the wall, sipping a drink as he watched Kayla talk and laugh with her friends. Seeing her like this—happy, confident, and surrounded by love—made everything they had gone through worth it. She had come out stronger on the other side, and now, she was truly living.

Lena walked over, nudging him playfully. "You look like a proud brother over there."

Jordan grinned, raising his drink. "I am. She's come a long way."

Lena nodded, her eyes softening as she looked over at Kayla. "She's a fighter, that's for sure. But I always knew she'd make it through. She's got that strength in her."

Jordan glanced over at Isaiah, who was talking with a couple of Kayla's friends. His brother had always been the steady one, the protector, but tonight, even Isaiah looked like he was letting go, enjoying the moment for what it was—a celebration of family and new beginnings.

As the night wore on, Jordan found himself standing on the small balcony of Kayla's apartment, looking out at the city lights. The cool night air felt good, and he couldn't help but reflect on everything that had happened over the past year. It had been a rollercoaster—full of ups and downs, challenges they hadn't seen coming—but somehow, they had all come through stronger.

Isaiah stepped out onto the balcony, joining him in the quiet. "Crazy, isn't it?"

Jordan nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah. Feels like we've been through it all, but here we are. Kay's happy, you're makin' moves, and I'm about to start my own thing with the cars. Feels like everything's finally fallin' into place."

Isaiah smiled, leaning against the railing. "It's all coming together, man. I think we all needed this fresh start. After everything with Devin, after all that fear Kay went through... it feels good to just see her happy."

Jordan sipped his drink, letting Isaiah's words sink in. "Yeah. It's like we're all movin' forward now. We're building somethin' better."

Isaiah nodded, the pride clear in his voice. "We are. And we're gonna keep buildin'. Kay's doin' her thing, and we gotta keep pushin', too. It's our time now."

Jordan smiled, feeling the weight of the truth in his brother's words. It was their time. The past no longer had a hold on them, and now, the future was wide open.

Later that night, as the party started to wind down, Kayla found herself standing on the balcony, looking out at the city. Jordan and Isaiah were still inside, cleaning up after the guests, but she needed a moment alone to take it all in.

The night had been perfect—full of laughter, love, and hope for the future. It was everything she had wanted, and more than she had ever thought she deserved after everything that had happened. But now, standing here in her own apartment, surrounded by people who loved her, Kayla knew she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, and she pulled it out to see a message from Isaiah.

Isaiah: We're all proud of you, Kay. You're unstoppable now.

Kayla smiled, tears welling up in her eyes as she typed a quick response.

Kayla: I love y'all. Couldn't have done this without you.

As she put her phone away, Kayla looked up at the stars twinkling in the sky. Her heart was full, and for the first time in a long time, she felt completely at peace. The future was hers now, and she was ready to step into it with open arms.

She took a deep breath, letting the cool air fill her lungs, and smiled.

This was just the beginning.
