Today was a good day.
No more high school, got my girlfriend beside me. Sure there's the future to think about, but that could wait for a bit.
'Starting to get hot as balls'. I hear Fang's snort, 'damn mumbling'. "Stop being such a baby. It's not that hot out".
"For you maybe".
We had to walk on the street a bit to avoid a crackhead doing push-ups for some reason. Something about a bet. One of his fellow crackheads was cheering him on while the other looked ready to smash the guy's head in with a half empty 40. 'Cannot wait to get out of skin row'.
"Maybe I should bring a knife too". Fang muttered to herself.
"Wouldn't be a terrible idea. Hey, we could do double teams then. Claim those golden twin crack pipes when we become the champs". Fang snorted at the joke before turning serious.
"If I have to fight a crazy person because of you. I'm never coming over to your place again".
I chuckle at the threat before nervously break eye contact when she doesn't budge. "Could I come stay over at your place if we do? I don't need some vengeful hobo breaking into my place and shanking me".
Fang smirked with an arched brow. "Even if you might become dad's next hunting trophy"?
"At least I can't get AIDS or something from his clubs".
I earn a laugh for that one. "Fair enough, but let's not get into a fight in the first place, alright"?
I look forward before slowing down. Fang immediately notices and follows my gaze. "That may not be up to us".
Up the sidewalk near the door to my apartment stood a guy. He was bald like me. Had two large wicked looking scars on his scalp that looked like someone had tried to stab him with a pickaxe. He wore a red flannel shirt with a roughed up pair of jeans. He was big, Principal Spears big. A bit on the heavier side compared to Spears with his gut hanging out a bit. He was also glaring at us, or more specifically, me.
He slid his hands out of his pockets and began to walk towards us, his body screaming 'I'm hurting someone today'. His cowboy boots loudly clapping against the concrete helped his threatening aura.
I slipped on my own glare and let go of Fang's hand. I could hear her whip her head to me. "What are you doing"? she harshly whispered.
"Gotta take care of this". She grabbed my shoulder and yanking me back. 'fuckin dinos and their bullshit strength'.
"That guy looks like he could throw us across the street. Let's just book it".
I steady myself and turn to Fang.
"He has and will again. He's also faster than us. I have history with this guy. He won't leave us alone until I do this". I grab her hand and give her my best confident smirk. "Fang, I need you to trust me on this. Everything will be alright".
I can tell she's scared. I mean, who wouldn't be if a massive 'good old boy' was glaring at you? I glance over to see the man had stopped and was waiting.
She looked over too. The guy cracks his neck as if he needed to do more to be scary.
'Dude could probably wrestle full-grown boars now'.
"What did you do to piss him off"? I look back to my sweet tooth and shake my head.
"Can't say right now, have to take care of this before he gets bored. Don't worry, he won't hurt me too much". 'I hope' Fang steps to the side as I fully turn to the large country boy. 'No backing away from this. Can't show any weakness to this guy'.
