Adelaide didn't know what she should have expected when she walked into the back room of the church where Megan set up her own journalism cave. But it surely wasn't a wall full of crime scene photos. Her eyes widened in horror the further she walked into the room. She took slow steps, taking in all of the photos as fast as she could.

The photos were gruesome. Dismembered parts, blood baths, organs falling right out of peoples bodies. Addie felt the bile crawling up her throat faster than she could control it, she slapped a hand over her mouth and took a deep breath. She had never seen something so horrifying like that and it made her feel sick.

Sister Megan turned around towards her with wide eyes, looking apologetic.

"Addie! I'm so sorry, please, please, look away!" She said, ushering Addie to look the opposite direction. "Gosh, I didn't know you were coming too."

Lois sighed and walked past the girls, focusing her attention to the board of photos. She was used to people vomiting on the job after witnessing the crime scenes, but she was desensitized to it by now.

"Wow, Megan, I didn't know you had such a strong stomach." Addie joked, trying to not focus on the haunting pictures that were stuck in her mind. She didn't know how somebody could do that and not feel sick after it. Addie was terrified of needles, God forbid she was around a dismembered body.

Suddenly, the sickness drained out and sadness sunk in. These were people she walked past on the streets and saw at the store. How could someone be so cruel to take away their lives? Especially in such a scary way, she couldn't imagine the pain that they had felt. The bile in her throat was replaced by stray tears in her eyes.

Today was an emotional day for her, obviously.

"It was hard at first, but I kind of got used to it." Megan replied, handing her a tissue and a warm smile too. Addie took it and thanked her.
