Addie, Lois, Megan, and the blood covered girl- who she learned to be Andrea- all sat in a joined silence. Andrea had told them she was hit in an accident. Addie had never seen a car accident, but she didn't believe it would cause that much blood.

The motel sat just before them. It seemed old fashioned, like it was built years ago. But it probably was, there was nothing else around. All Addie wanted was to finally get out of this car and breathe.

"Andrea, listen, someone beat you and beat you bad." Lois said, pulling into the dirt parking lot of the motel.

"Really, I don't need anything. Thank you, you're kind." Andrea said softly, un clicking her seatbelt. "You should stay here until the fires are out, you'll be safe here."

Without another word, she jumped out of the car and ran into a room across the lot. Blood leaving footprints in the sand. Addie exhaled sharply, watching her figure disappear.

"Should she be alone?" Megan asked.

"You heard her, she doesn't want a sitter." Lois replied.

The three of them exited the car. Addie stepped out slowly, eyeing the area around her. Un easy did not leave her stomach as she closed the door, it only pooled in harder like a rainstorm.

"Dear Lord, what is happening." She muttered to herself.

Her mind felt clouded and the world seemed to be going different directions, even as she stood still. She knew what it felt like to be drunk, thanks to Lois and her flask. But this felt much worse, more confusing.

"Look at the fucking pool!" Addie heard Lois say, although it sounded distant. Somehow being out of the car felt a lot more draining than being in it. She had wanted to take a moment to breathe, but heavily regretted it.

It was almost like the more she breathed in the air around her, it formed thick clouds around her brain. She watched as Megan ran up the steps to the pool, looking at it in horrifying confusion. Addie leant against the car, fighting to keep her body stable.
