When we enter the kitchen sure enough Kuroo is already there and waiting. I guess he knew she'd bring me here somehow. "Here,"

He hands me the ice pack and I take it reluctantly, it's cold. I hesitate to put it on my leg. "What's wrong?" Kuroo asks.

"It's cold," I mutter, blushing a little when I realise what I just said. Yes, it's ice. It's cold.

Nekoma's captain chuckles at me, his hands lightly draped over his hips and his eyes closed. "Yes, y/n. Ice packs are cold,"

"S-shut up.. you know what I meant,"

Kaori snickers at me and points towards my forehead— holding onto her mouth trying to stop her laughing. "Maybe the fall took a little more out of you then we thought,"

I fluster and throw the nearest thing at her, which happened to be a ketchup sachet. "Not funny," as she continues to laugh I can't help but join in, embarrassed by myself.

When we finally stop laughing, I notice Coach Ukai walking into the room with some paperwork in his hands. "You alright y/n? Kiyoko said you took a fall,"

He walks over and sits down idly next to me, his chair facing the wrong way. "I gotta get you to answer these just to confirm your alright. That okay?"

I nod at him and he picks up a red pen before beginning to question me. This had only happened the once, but I know that he's required to double check on me if I get injured because of my anaemia and chronic migraines.

"1. Are you feeling dizzy at all?" "No more than I usually do,"
"2. Have you ate or drank anything that's made you feel nauseous?" "I haven't."
"3. Do you feel faint or fatigued?" "Only a little faint, but that's normal."

He looks up from the sheet and sighs, but continues. "4. Are you in pain anywhere?"
I shake my head no. After a few more questions he pats me on the head and tells me to go get a good meal and some rest, saying he'll check on me in a little while.

"Y/N, Kenma said he'll keep you company for now— I bet he's only doing it so he can play his games though," Kuroo rolls his eyes and offers me a hand to help me down from the counter id sat on when Ukai entered the room.

"Haha, that's fine." I take his hand for the second time today, and marvel at the rough yet soft texture of his hand. It's so warm, like a blanket.

"I'll take you to him, he should be in Nekoma's room."

"How did you beat me again? You're good, do you play a lot?"

I smile at Kenma and take a small bite out of the (fruit) pot id been brought. "I don't have a lot of spare time, but when I do I either play games, sleep or revise."

He nods and his two-toned hair brushes in-front of his face. "What's your favourite game?"

"(Favourite game), I've played it over and over a million times!" He gives his small smile back at me, agreeing that he likes the game and that he's spent countless amounts of time playing it, too.

"How come you didn't want to play volleyball and are staying with me instead? I mean I'm not complaining or anything,"

"Too much effort.." he mutters.

I giggle at him, "You're in a volleyball club but think it's too much effort to play? Oh— by the way how old are you?"

"I'm a second year,"
