Max's POV

I wake up around two pm and rub my eyes, getting out of bed. “Come on, you lazy bones. It's time to get up. That party starts at five pm. We've got like three hours to get ready.” I say as I stretch, my heart racing a bit as I look over at my costume. It was a set of angel wings and a halo, along with a white shirt, white pants, and some white sneakers I had lying around. I hop in the shower while the boys slowly wake up and get their stuff ready for the party. It had been two, going on three weeks now, since I had last seen Bradley or even talked to Roxanne. Roxanne would be fine, but Bradley… that one concerned me quite a bit. Especially when I went to class the day after and I hadn't seen him. I tried to ask Tank, but he told me he didn't know. Something told me he was lying, though. But I wasn't going to push. After all, I was the one who pushed him away in the first place. I was going to talk to him during our shift, but he never showed up. That's when Mickey let me know that he just needs time and would decide when he was ready to talk to me. Despite this, I still tried to get into contact with him. I called him and texted him but to no avail. It didn't even occur to me that he blocked me or changed his schedule around JUST to avoid bumping into me.

I talked to Roxanne about it and found out from her that he had blocked me that same night. “You really messed up, Max,” she told me. I finish up my shower and sigh, changing into my outfit. I look in the mirror and shrug. “Eh. It's something. I don't really feel like dressing up as anything else. Especially not Powerline. Not that that costume fits me anymore anyway.” I say as I brush my hair and put on my sneakers, leaving the bathroom. Bobby was dressed up as a can of cheese whiz, and Pj was dressed like a rock star. I chuckle a bit at their costumes. “Really Bobby? A can of cheese whiz? How did you even manage that?” I ask as he smirks. “I had my costume from high school, bro. It still fits.” He says as he pulls out a can of cheese whiz and makes a leaning tower of cheese in his hand. I began contemplating right then and there how I EVER had a crush on this man back in high school. I look at Pj. “Looking good, Peej.” I say as he smiles. “Hey, I figured it was my turn to stand out.” He says as I roll my eyes. “Ha ha. Very funny.” I say as Bobby looks at me. “What's with the angel costume?” He asks as I shrug. “I couldn't figure out what I wanted to be. It fits, don't you think?” I ask as both boys laugh. “Not in the least, Max. You are the OPPOSITE of an angel.” Pj says as I roll my eyes. I checked the clock. It's four forty-five pm. “Oh crap. We gotta go! We're gonna be late!” Everyone grabs their wallets and keys, and we head out to the Gamma house for the party. Right before we leave, I grab Bradley's sweater and fold it nice and neatly, putting it into a pocket on my jeans.

Pj and I get on our skateboards while Bobby puts on his skates, and off we go to the Gamma house. I wondered if I would see Bradley. At this point, I wanted to see him just to apologize to him. Especially after seeing that note. The next shift I worked, the villains were laughing about their joke, expressing how they loved the drama. So I knew he was telling the truth in his note. I just wished I listened to his side first. Roxanne was right. I haven't changed at all. I tried to stay positive for the guys, but even they knew that this had been eating me up inside. We made it to the Gamma house and walked inside. We see Tank and Stacey waiting for the boys to show up. “Hey guys.” I say with a smile. The two of them weren't dressed up, but then again, I figured this wasn't Stacey's sort of thing. She chuckles at Pj's costume. “Powerline?” She asks as his cheeks turn pink as he slowly nods at her. “Come on, Buddha boy.” She says as she pulls his hand to go dance for a bit. “Some things never change.” I say with a chuckle.

“Bobby, why are you a can of cheese whiz?” Tank asks as Bobby smiles. “It's my favorite snack.” He says as Tank looks at him. “Damn. Guess I should've dressed as a Ritz cracker to match then.” He teases as Bobby's face turns pink. I shake my head and chuckle. “I'll catch you love birds later then. I'm gonna go get a drink.” I say. And with that, I headed into the kitchen to make myself a drink. I make myself a fruit drink and sigh, looking out at the party. I downed my drink and was about to make another one when someone bumped into me. “Oh shit! I'm so sorry.” When I turn to face the person, I see it's Bradley. My heart races a bit, and I feel my face turn red. He begins walking away, and I begin to reach out for him. “Bradley, wait!” I say as he stops dead in his tracks. Without facing me, he says, “Yes, Goof?” I stop and put my hand down. I sigh and look at him. “Can we please talk?” He turned to face me. “Talk? Talk?! Now you want to talk?” He says. This wasn't going to be as easy as I had hoped. Then again, it's Bradley. I looked at him for a second and noticed he had gotten his hair cut shorter and now had earrings in his ears. He looked amazing. Even more so now than before. I didn't even think that was possible.
