"Students, pay attention please

"Students, pay attention please. The principal assigned a bigger exercise coming up so let me show it to y'all"
The teacher said before turning on the beamer.

I spent less time paying attention to the teacher than examining the trees outside.

Exercises and more exercises made my head feel heavy and I could fall asleep every second. At least it felt like that in my head.

I raised my chin and looked frontwards, knowing that the exercise would come back to me in the end anyways so I better listened.

"This work will be done in duos. Each team will be assigned a subject and you will explain one chosen theme in form of a presentation. You can present videos or PowerPoint presentations, that's up to you"

Okay it was official, I hated partner works. No matter which one we had to do, it was always a nightmare to work with people I didn't really know and then present anything.

I sighed. Maybe it would have been better if I did look out of the window except for listening, maybe my ears wouldn't have hurt that much then.

"Okay, so please split up in duos and sit down next to your partner"
The teacher then said.

I exhaled and crossed my arms over my chest, staying still on my seat as I knew that I'd end up being paired up with a loner anyways.

I noticed that Eunjin next to me just looked around in class nervously but I didn't dare to ask her.

I didn't want to be paired up with her. I mean she was nice and kind but just because I didn't feel uncomfortable around her it didn't mean I had to do things with her right?

She could have switched classes to be with Jungwon, that would actually have been better for everyone.

About to ask her about that class switching thing, I was stopped by our teacher approaching us quickly.

I sighed and rolled my eyes unnoticeable before putting on my fake smile.

"Oh, I see, Heeseung you don't look like you were about to search for a partner?"

I sat up straight and breathed through a smile.
I shook my head and pouted my lips, raising my brows.

"I don't think that we're an even amount of students in this class. I have no problem with doing this alo-"
I wanted to finish my sentence, suggesting that I could do it on my own, when I was quickly cut off by my teacher shaking his head.

"Oh noo, we don't want to have anyone do this alone. See, I think Eunjin also doesn't have a partner right? Do you, Eunjin?"

No god please not.

I looked at Eunjin and watched her shaking her head, a slight apology to be seen in her eyes from aside.

I looked back at the teacher who clapped his hands happily, smiling. I actually wanted to sink into the ground just now.
