Aryan's POV
Lying in hospital room felt cold, both from the air conditioning and the sterile walls that surrounded me. I had expected to be here, but not this soon which caught me off guard. Even dad and Roshan would spare some time but they have to handle their business. The world outside was buzzing with life, but here I was, confined to this small space, feeling lonely and uncertain.
Then, he walked in. Arjun, he was everything, I envy: warm, innocent, and bursting with energy. His curly hair bounced with each step, and when he smiled, it lit up the room. "Good morning, Aryan! How are you feeling today?" His voice was like sunshine breaking through my cloudy days.
I managed a weak smile. "Better than yesterday, I guess," I replied, trying to sound more cheerful than I felt.
Over the next few days, Arjun visited me regularly and I subconsciously wait for his arrival, he always bringing his bright spirit with him. He told jokes, shared his stories, about his school life, college life, family, friends also friendly chit-chat with Roshan and Arjun genuinely listened to me and I poured my heart out.
I remember one day he showed up with a chef hat. "I thought you could be tired with hospital food," he said, handover a tiffin, I was confused but he explained me with blush creeping in his cheeks. cute. He cooked for me which felt overwhelming. I couldn't help but smile. We both had our dinner together, while I just keep staring at him, I can't convey my emotion in words. feelings I felt. It felt too real.
As Arjun continued to visit, I began to look forward to his bright presence. Each time he entered the room, my heart raced not from my condition, but from the excitement of seeing him. He would sit by my side, chatting about everything from his favorite things to the latest memes. He had this way of making me feel like I was the only person in the world.
One rainy afternoon, Arjun brought a stack of board games. "It's time for some fun!" he declared, pulling out a game called "Guess Who?" We spent the next hour asking silly questions and laughing, and I felt a warmth growing inside me that I hadn't felt in a long time.
"Do you think I would ever wear a hat like this?" I asked, pointing to my silly headgear.
"Only if you wanted to look fabulous!" he shot back, making me laugh so hard I nearly forgot my worries.
As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months, I realized I was falling for him. It was more than just a attraction; it was a connection, a bond I had never experienced before. Arjun had a way of making the hospital feel less like a prison and more like a place where I could heal, not just physically, but emotionally.
One evening, while we were watching a movie together on my laptop, I caught a glimpse of Arjun's smile as he laughed at a funny scene. It hit me then this man brought joy into my life when I had expected nothing but loneliness. I couldn't help but admire the way his eyes sparkled, how he threw his head back in laughter, and the way he genuinely cared. He was a big baby with pure heart
I felt a flutter in my chest, and it wasn't the arrhythmia this time. It was something new and beautiful. But with that flutter came fear. Could I really let myself feel this way? Would it lead to heartbreak? I can't help myself it felt anxious.
The next day, I decided I had to confess my feelings. "Ahhmm...... Arjun, can we talk?" I asked, my voice was low and shaking slightly.
"Of course! What's on your mind?" he replied, his usual bright smile dimming just a bit with concern.
Taking a deep breath, I searched for the right words. "I think...hhmm...., I think, I caught feelings for you." I felt my heart race, waiting for his reaction. "You've made this hospital stay so special, and I can't help but feel more than just friendship."
For a moment, silence enveloped us, and I held my breath and my graze on him. Then, Arjun's face broke into a huge smile. "Really? I've been feeling the same way when met u for first time, Aryan. I didn't want to say anything at first, I was scared that you will not feel the same way I felt around you, but I've embrace every moment we've spent together."
Relief washed over me, and my heart felt lighter than it had in weeks. Arjun kneel down, took my hand, his grip warm and reassuring. "I was so worried you might only think I was just your doctor, but I wanted to be more. You mean so much to me."
In that moment, everything shifted. The cold hospital room transformed into a place of warmth and love. We talked about our feelings, laughing and sharing our hopes for what could be. It felt like a beautiful beginning, a chance to explore something pure and real.
As the days passed, our connection deepened. We shared quiet moments, silly games, and tender conversations. Arjun became not just my doctor but a friend, my confident, my strength and the person who made my heart race for all the right reasons.
With each passing day, I realized how much I wanted him in my life, even after my hospital stay. It wasn't just about healing my heart condition; it was about embracing this incredible bond we had formed.
And as I lay there, staring the beautiful stars and moon shinning brightly in the endless sky while resting my head on his chest and hearing his calming heart-beats. I knew I had found something special, a love that felt as warm and comforting as he enveloped me in his embrace, where I found my home.
