Chapter Four-
Tamerlaine's POV
The Alpha. I can't talk to the Alpha. What if he doesn't like me and throws me back into the forest? How am I supposed to talk to him? Oh gosh! Breathe, Laine. Breathe. I took a deep breath and nodded at the middle-aged doctor. He smiled in reassurance.
Doctor Ryan wiped the board clean and wrote in his small script, "But first I have to patch you up."
I cocked a brow at that. He just turned around and started to go through the cabinets. He pulled out a black velcro thing and tossed it onto the bed next to me. Then he returned to searching through the cabinets. The doctor turned back around with some white cloth and red colored plastic stuff. He walked back over to me and started wrapping my arm with the white cloth, which I later learned was called gauze. Next, he wrapped my arm in the red plastic.
(A/N: I don't know how doctors put on a cast because I've never had one. So just bear with me.)
When he finished, he grabbed the black velcro and bent to examine my ankle. He placed the black thing around my ankle and adjusted it. I figured out it was an ankle brace. Doctor Ryan carefully helped me up. I had to cling onto his arm to even stand, and I could barely walk. I felt bad for making him take care of me and having to drag me to where the Alpha was.
He gave me a reassuring look and mouthed out the words, "It's okay."
Luckily, I can read lips well. I gave a small smile back.
Slowly, we started walking out of the infirmary room. Doctor Ryan checked outside of the door quickly, then helped me walk.Suddenly, he turned and faced a boy. The boy was hot. He had spiked dirty blonde hair, and greenish-blue eyes. He was tall, probably around 6'0". The boy was speaking, but I couldn't understand because he was talking to fast. He kept sneaking glances at me though. Soon Doctor Ryan turned back around and led me around the corner. I took one last look at the boy and he smiled a cute smile at me. I almost smiled back, but part of me told me not to.
Doctor Ryan led me around a big house, but no one was around. I wonder where they are. We stopped abruptly at a distinct, black door. The doctor knocked and then entered moments later. I observed the room carefully. Bookshelves lined the walls, and in the center was a desk with two chairs in front of it. A man who bared a striking resemblance to the boy, except for hair color, sat at the desk. He gestured with his hand for us to sit. Cautiously, I sat in the maroon chair.
The man, who I presumed was the Alpha, was speaking to Doctor Ryan. Though, I figured he was not made aware of my condition. Uncomfortably, I started combing my fingers through my tangled, brown hair. Thoughts and worries clouded my mind; I was not aware that I was still in the presence of anyone until I felt a light tap on my shoulder.
"Meet Alpha Retrac. He has been notified of you being deaf. I believe he has some questions for you." Doctor Ryan wrote on the small whiteboard. I hadn't noticed it until he wrote those words, though.
I didn't have a problem with the Alpha knowing of my lack of hearing, which surprised me. Alpha Retrac seemed to be fine with it, and he was the Alpha and he has a right to know what goes on in his pack.
The Alpha started speaking again, and Doctor Ryan jotted down his words quickly.
"He said, 'How did you end up in the woods of our pack territory?'"
