Chapter Two-
The girl's POV
"That'll teach you, you little brat! Do not defy me again!" he yelled as he slapped me again. The power of the slap had knocked me to the floor. I landed sharply on my wrist and I heard a quiet crack. I winced and he kicked me in the ribs. "Stop your whining!" he yelled. I was hurt badly.
I shook off the pain even though I was positive my ribs and wrist were broken. I tried to stand up and he just punched my jaw, which made me fall and my head crack against the ground. It hurt like hell. My ears were ringing, and my head throbbing.
He started saying something, but I couldn't hear him. I was in far too much pain and the ringing grew louder. I just wanted the pain to go away.
When the ringing subsided, I tried to stand up. The blow I was expecting didn't come, meaning that he left.
My legs wobbled and my naked body was freezing. The only article of clothing in sight was his t-shirt. I slipped it on. Luckily, it came down to my knobby knees and my elbows.
I walked unsteadily out of the dark room, and down the long hallway. I winced with every step, and cowered at the thought of being caught.
The large windows were covered by thick, blood red drapes. The floor was tiled with black marble. I kept walking slowly and unsteadily towards the door. Sadly, the main hallway separates into many smaller halls. I had to carefully slip past the smaller halls unseen. I slipped past the first fews, which were empty. As I was passing the last hall, I saw a black figure. Please don't be him. I turned and saw it was just another maid. Crap, what if she tells him! She looked at me with sadness, and started making strange gestures. It took me a minute to comprehend what she was trying to say, but I eventually got it. She was telling me to leave.
"Thank you," I whispered. She nodded and smiled slightly. She watched me carefully as I walked down the rest of the main hall. I made it to the dark oak doors and smiled a small smile. I was going to be free. The large doors opened silently, which surprised me because this was an old castle. I walked out and shut the doors carefully behind me. Then I ran.
I ran like a bat out of hell. My life depended on this moment. My whole livelihood depended on it. The harsh ground made deep gashes in my feet, but nothing could slow me down. Not sounds from animals, nor the throbbing pain of my body. Now that I think about it the forest is strangely silent. I stopped and thought about it for a minute, but then continued on my way to freedom.
A while later I tripped. Landing on the ground sharply and painfully. I didn't try to stand, I was too exhausted. I slipped into the dark abyss of unconsciousness.
I woke up to the blinding light streaming through trees. Where am I? What happened? Everything came back to me in flashes. From me being abused yet again to me running away and passing out.
I was to tired to move or try to. I laid battered and broken on the forest floor. The only time I moved was when I felt someone behind me. I jumped and turned in fear. How could I not hear them? I am a werewolf for goodness sake.
I saw that it was a boy. The boy had dark blonde hair and blue-green eyes. He looked to be around my age, but he was nude. That's awkward. He was saying something, but I could hear nothing. I had to get away from the boy. The boy might hurt me like he does, or did. I tried to stand. My legs were weak and my ankle was swollen and hurt, but that's not what I was worried about. Something hit my mind that made me pass out in shock.
I was deaf.
When I woke up, all I saw was white. I'm dead. He killed me. I felt a gentle nudge on my shoulder. I sat up, eyes wide. This is when I noticed where I was. I was in what looked to be a hospital room. It was all white. I was in a bed wearing a white dress. Where am I?
A man was standing next to me. He was old, probably around his mid-40s, but he looked kind and gentle.
He started talking, but he didn't know I couldn't hear him. I started making gestures; trying to indicate that I can't hear him. He looked as if he was trying to understand. The man handed me a small white board and a red marker. He made a gesture for me to write down what I was trying to say.
"I can't hear you." I wrote. I turned the whiteboard to face him and he read it. He made an O shape with his mouth. The man gently took the whiteboard from my hands. He started writing.
"So you're deaf?" he wrote. I hated to admit it, but I was. Being deaf made me feel weaker and more scared than I already was. I was scared everyone was going to hurt me like he did.
I nodded at the man's question. The man looked at me with sadness and pity. I didn't blame him. That's how I would look at my self, too.
"Well, I'm Ryan Potter, one of the doctors here. What's your name?" he wrote. Then he handed me the whiteboard.
"Tamerlaine," I wrote hesitantly. I wasn't sure if I should trust him, but he is kind and I do. (Note: Her name is pronounced Tam-er-lane-e. And her nickname, Laine, is pronounced Lane-e.) "Where am I?"
"Pretty," he wrote. I smiled shyly. No one every called my name pretty. "You are in the infirmary." That didn't exactly answer my question. Someone must've knocked on the door because he turned around to face it. A shadow could be seen coming through the bottom of the door. I grabbed the whiteboard from Doctor Ryan.
"Don't tell anyone I'm deaf." I wrote hastily. He gave me a questioning look with his old silvery-gray eyes, but nodded. For some reason, I don't what everyone to know that I'm deaf. I didn't want to seem as weak and scared as I really was. No one needed to know how weak I was.
Ryan walked to the door then exited. The other man seemed upset. Even though I was deaf, I could practically hear him shouting at Ryan.
Jeez, what crawled up his butt and died.
The other man's voice was shaking the entire infirmary. The yelling, even though I couldn't hear it, reminded me of him and had tears threatening to appear. I tried to calm myself down and keep my composure, but I couldn't. I couldn't bear to think about that awful place. Not again.
Amidst my tears, Ryan had reentered the room.
"What were we talking about?" he wrote.
"I asked where I was." I wrote in reply. My tears dried. He hadn't seem to notice.
"I'm going to straight forward and tell you exactly where you are."
I nodded. He erased what he wrote and started writing something new. After a minute, he turned the board back to me and I read the small print.
"You are in the infirmary of the Lunar Eclipse pack house. I and everyone else who lives here are werewolves. Being werewolves means we can shift into wolves. You were brought here by our Alpha's son who found you in the woods." he wrote. I nodded and was handed the whiteboard.
"I'm a werewolf, too." I wrote.
As he read it his eyes widened immensely, like something about it shocked him. I could tell something was running through his mind.
He practically ripped the whiteboard out of my hand and quickly erased it with the sleeve of his lab coat.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were. I'm also sorry for what I'm about to tell you." he wrote and had an apologetic look on his face. He erased what he wrote.
"The Alpha wants to speak to you."

Btw: Tamerlaine never calls her captor by his name. She refers to him as "he" or "him".
