Chapter Three-

Aaron's POV

I have been pacing back and forth in the hospital wing in front of the girl's door for hours. A one point Doctor Skylar Arevaro had to leave and switch out with Doctor Ryan Potter. That's how long I was there. The time I was there felt like forever. All I needed to know was if the girl was okay. 'It's okay, Aaron. Chill. She's probably not awake yet.' I told myself. This is where I would expect my wolf to come and say something, but he didn't. What's wrong with him?

Later that day, my mom came. I knew she was probably worried about me. I have been acting strange. Ever since I found the girl I've been in the hospital wing without sleeping or eating.

"Aaron, are you okay?" Mom asked.

'No, I'm not. I'm freaking out over this girl even though I have no idea why.' I thought to myself. Again, my wolf was silent. Seriously, what's up with him today? Usually, he won't shut up.

"Yeah," I lied, nervously. She knew I was lying. Does she have a flipping lie detector built into her brain?

"Aaron, do you honestly think I don't know when you're lying?" she said crossing her arms. She gave me a look that told me to spill.

"I... um..." I stuttered under her gaze. My mom may be 5'2", but she can be kind of scary when she wants to be. Her pale green eyes glowed as they glared at me.

"I'm waiting." she growled lightly. Annoyance was clear on her face.

"I found this girl in the forest and I'm really worried about her and I don't know why." I said really fast. So how it really came out was ' IfoundthisgirlintheforestandI' mreallyworriedaboutherandIdon' tknowwhy'.

An emotion ran through her face, but as fast as it came, it disappeared. Her face then softened and she nodded. She knows something.

"Come on, Aaron. You need to sleep." she whispered in a motherly tone. She placed her small hand on my arm and started leading me away from the hospital wing.

"I can't." I protested and pulled away from her touch. I needed to stay and make sure the girl was okay. She had to be okay.

"It's almost midnight. You haven't slept in almost twenty-four hours. I'll stay and make sure she is okay, but you need to get some sleep." she commanded. My mom used the voice that meant no arguments. Not wanting to make her mad, I walked over to the couch about fifty feet away from the girl's hospital room and laid down. My mom sighed, but left, knowing I wouldn't budge. I let my eyes slide shut and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

I was in the same dream. The girl was kneeling broken on the ground as the man abused her. She was screaming my name. It hurt to watch her be tortured like that. I turned away from the horrible scene unfolding in front me and faced the darkness. Tears streamed down my face as I heard her cries. A crack had me turning back around. I saw her laying on the ground, blood oozing out from under head. She was crying in pain.

Suddenly, I was staring at myself from her point of view. My body was shaking and suddenly my body shifted in my wolf. Since I was still looking out of her eyes, I saw myself lunge at the red-eyed man in anger. That's when I woke up.

I sat up quickly from the couch and looked around. I was still in the hospital wing. Groggily, I stood up and stretched. That couch is uncomfortable. I cracked my back and shook my arms to stop the numbness.

"Are you done yet?" I hear a deep voice ask. I opened my eyes and saw my dad standing there, smirking.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" I asked. As soon as the words came out of my mouth I realized what a stupid question it was.
