Minho knew that Chan would be even more pissed than he was about Felix getting those threats. Felix and Chan had met soon after Felix came to Korea from Australia, which is where Chan was from as well. So they leaned on each other in ways the others in the group couldn't. When they were homesick, they had each other. So as Minho walked up to Chan's dorm room door, he knew that Chan would be ready. Minho had called him before he left. Only telling him that they needed to meet and that it was urgent, and involving Felix.
Chan opened the door with a worried look on his face. "Minho, come in." He said as he opened the door wider to give Minho room to enter. "What's this about? You said Felix was involved? Is he okay?" Chan was trying to stay calm, but his panic was evident.
"Felix has been getting death threats." When Minho finally informed him, Chan's face dropped. Then, as he processed, his expression grew angry.
"Why?" His voice was deep and it honestly scared Minho just a bit.
"People are saying that he isn't good enough for Hyunjin. Hyunjin has been getting them too, they say that if he hurts Felix they will kill him. Felix is genuinely worried for Hyunjin. But he can handle himself. Felix came to our dorm crying. He is who I'm worried about. Still, we should check in with Hyunjin after we deal with this. Speaking of, how are we going to do this?" Chan looked down. Minho could tell that he was thinking hard by the way his eyes flicked in all directions.
"There's not much we can do." Chan seemed bothered by this fact. "We just gotta protect him somehow." Minho raised an eyebrow.~•~
"You're walking me to class?" Felix asked Changbin as he packed his school bag. "Why?" Changbin shrugged at this. "I want to hang out more so I thought walking you to class could be a good start. You know?" Felix nodded. He continued what he was doing but slowed down considerably as he went into deep thought. Changbin and Felix hung out, like, all the time. They were pretty close. So Felix knew something was up, but he couldn't just ask him why he was lying. There had to be a good reason, cus they don't lie to each other. "You good?" Changbin asked when Felix became so deep in his thoughts that he stopped moving completely. But when Changbin spoke to him it snapped him out of it.
"Yeah sorry. Was just thinking." Felix shook his head and pulled his bag over his shoulder.
"What were you think'n about? You almost seemed upset."
"Um... I got this homework assignment that is stressing me out a bit."
"Oh, what subject is it, maybe I can help." Changbin smiled. 'Damn it Changbin. Could you not be so considerate and insightful for one just second?'
"Nah, it's okay. I just gotta stop putting it off, thanks though." Before Changbin could say any more, Felix began to walk out of the dorm. "We should get going."The walk to Felix's class was expectedly delightful.
They loved spending time together. Usually they would go out to eat or to the gym. Felix didn't work out much but he still liked to go with his friend.
As they walked they talked about literally nothing, and yet they were yapping away.
"How are you and Hyunjin?" Changbin nudged Felix's side teasingly. Felix hadn't told Changbin about the threats, and he didn't want to. He didn't want to worry him. This was his problem, he could fix it on his own... right?
"We're good. Hyunjin took me bowling the other day." Felix laughed at the memory. "Poor guy, he said he was good at it. I don't know who told him that though cus damn does he sucks." Changbin laughed at this as well. He liked hearing about his and Hyunjin's little adventures, it was cute. They were so perfect for each other. Felix was so soft, kind hearted, and sensitive. And, Hyunjin also sensitive, just in a slightly different way, and he was selfless and caring. They fit together like puzzle pieces. Where one lacked the other filled in. Changbin admired this. Before they knew it, the building was right in front of them. They began their walk down the halls.
Chan had told Changbin about the whole threats situation with the couple. He was furious of course. But he kept it secret. That was until he saw the way people looked at Felix. The younger's mood visibly dropped. His head hung low and he stopped speaking, not to mention laughing. He was so happy before they walked through the doors. But he could hear their whispering, he could feel their stares, he could taste their disgust. He shriveled.
"Whore." A passerby spoke to Felix in his face as he walked by. Felix froze mid-step. Dispare ran through his veins as his heart dropped. Tears began to well up in his eyes. He glanced at Changbin. Only, he wasn't there. Felix turned to see where the large boy had gone. How could you lose someone as buff as him? But when he turned, he hadn't lost him, and neither had the kid that spoke to Felix moments before. Changbin was blocking their path. His arms were crossed and he had a look on his face Felix had never seen him wear.Changbin was the definition of aegyo. He was giggly and kind and caring and hilarious.
But Felix didn't see that when he looked at Changbin in that moment. He saw anger. The way his chin was lifted slightly as if looking down at something disgraceful. His nose was slightly scrunched as if he smelled something rotten. Changbin may have been short, but his stature made up for it. Thankfully, the kid wasn't that tall either.
"The fuck are you?" The kid asked with incredible sass. Changbin raised an eyebrow. "I have neither the patience nor the crayons to explain this to you, but I'll give it a go." People standing in the hallway laughed at Changbin's words. But Changbin paid them no mind. "I'm sorry, well I'm not but anyway, I have seen literal shit prettier than you. You look like a "before picture" okay?" The kid looks at Changbin with big eyes. Felix guess's that they haven't been talked to like this before. "What doesn't kill you disappoints the rest of us." Some kids pull out their phones and start recording. This worries Felix but Changbin doesn't even notice. "Being bitter won't make you prettier. But you do you cus god knows no one else will. Your face would make an onion cry. Do you have nothing better to do than mock someone who did nothing wrong? Dude, you'd fail a personality test. You can't say shit. If you're going to be two-faced, at least make one cute. Cus damn." The whole hallway is silent, no one wants to miss what he says next. "The only time you're not as dumb as you look is when I close my eyes. If I gave you a penny for your thoughts I'd get change back. You're why shampoo bottles have instructions. I bet your mom wishes she had swallowed you." Some kids start egging him on, almost cheering. But others shush them. "I don't think someone like you has any right to call someone else a whore, bitch. If I throw a stick will you leave? Cus I'm done with your bitch ass. But don't worry, I'm not disappointed in you, that's your parent's job."Changbin turns on his heel, walks to Felix, and drags the flabbergasted boy away and towards where he thinks his class room is. Everyone else cheers loudly. No one really knows who Changbin is so they couldn't chant his name like they wanted to. But before they knew it, the two were gone, leaving a completely destroyed kid behind, who is still processing all the insults that were thrown at them.
