Richard "Richie" Spears is friends with Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and their best dog, Scooby, as where goes on mystery on whenever they goes, as where Richie have a crush on Daphne Blake.

Richie basically packs up his things and lets Lana take him to the airport, as where Lana smiled, but sad to see Richie go.
"You know, I'm gonna miss you, Richie." Lana said to the dirty blonde boy.
Richie turned to Lana and gave her a confused look.
Is she flirty him?
Lana continues, "As a friend, I mean it as a friend."
Richie nodded and hugged Lana, who hugged back and drove away, leaving Richie with his duffle bag in his hand.
Richie signs as he walks inside the airport.

Richie didn't know that so many people were also going to Spooky Island, where most of them are college students.
Richie continues to look around until he sees two very familiar people in front of him, in which it is Velma and Fred.
Richie walked up to his two friends, "Hey guys, I didn't know you guys are here too."
Daphne, who is also here with Velma and Fred, looks over to the Spears boy and rolled her eyes, knowing that Richie was here.
"Oh, hi Richie." Daphne muttered
Richie gave Daphne a shy wave, but Daphne ignored him.
"As I was saying, it's no fair, I was gonna do the mystery by myself for the first time ever." Daphne complains to the three.
"How are you gonna save yourself if you get caught?" Fred asked Daphne
"I have a black belt now, I have transformed myself into a dangerous weapon." Daphne answered
Both Fred and Velma chuckles about it, except Richie, who is a bit glad that Daphne did something after their break up, but knowing how to defend herself from any monster.
Just then, Shaggy appeared, "Alright, I guess all of us are going to Spooky Island."
Richie nodded, "Yeah, but wait, we are missing one. Where's Scooby?"
That is until Scooby appears, walking toward the team, wearing a summer hat, dress, yellow heels, a purse, and a pair of sunglasses.
Richie tries not to laugh.
"You got to be kidding me." Velma annoyed
"No one is stupid enough to believe that." Daphne said in upset
Fred turns to Shaggy, "Who is the ugly old chick?"
Scooby comes and kisses Fred on a cheek, which Fred was disguised by it as one of the flight attendants tells everyone that Spooky Island's flight is ready.
"Listen, I wouldn't agree to come if I knew." Velma said to Shaggy
Shaggy shakes his head.
"Wait, give me a second-" Shaggy goes behind Daphne and Richie. "Mystery greets reunite."
Daphne was very annoyed by it as Shaggy continued, "We can be the team again, just like the old days. So c'mon gang, let's just put our hands like this, and 'whooo!"
Daphne continues to glare at Shaggy, "Only that Velma, Fred, and Richie can do it."
Both Velma and Fred agree with Daphne as all three of them go to their flight.
Richie turned to Shaggy and Scooby, "I'm sorry guys, but maybe we get there."
Richie knew that he tried to light up the mood for Shaggy, but Shaggy knew what Richie was saying as they and Scooby got on their flight, too.

As everyone is on board and doing their business, Richie still have the photo that he bring with him on the trip, that is, until someone interrupt him.
"Excuse me," a girl asked.
Richie looks up to see a girl with blonde wavy hair and looks back at him.
"I'm sorry, not to interrupt you, but is it okay? Can I sit with you?" The blonde girl continues
"Oh sure." Richie said to the girl.
The girl smiled and sat next to Richie as she put her bag down, but look at the photo that Richie is holding.
"Is that your friend?" The girl asked Richie
Daphne looks over to Richie and the girl, as where Daphne starts to get angry at the girl.
"Oh, yeah, we used to date, but not anymore." Richie answered, in sadness.
The girl feels bad, "Oh I'm so sorry."
"Oh, no worries." Richie shrug
"Oh, I'm Mary Jane." Mary Jane greeted herself to the Spears boy
Richie shakes his hand to Mary Jane, "I'm Richie."
Daphne continues to glare at Mary Jane, in which it makes her break her glass cup with her bare hand, splashing the drink on her next door passenger.
