Summary = Y/n is pregnant and has a difficult conversation as they finally tell the father, Rafe.

The sun hung low over the Outer Banks, casting long shadows on the sand as you paced nervously along the beach. The waves rolled in, creating a familiar soundtrack, but today it felt different—more ominous. You pulled out your phone, heart racing at the thought of what you had to share.

Where r u?

It only took a moment before Rafe replied.

Beach. Come?

You took a deep breath, pushing away the anxiety that twisted your stomach. He needed to know, and there was no way around it.

When Rafe finally appeared, he looked as confident as ever, his usual swagger on full display. But as he approached, you could see the concern flicker across his face. "Y/N, what's up? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Hey," you said, trying to keep your voice steady. "We need to talk."

His brow furrowed. "Talk? About what? Did something happen?" There was a slight edge in his tone, curiosity mixed with concern.

You took a step back, trying to find the right words. "It's about last week. The pill... it didn't work."

Rafe blinked, confusion spreading across his face. "Wait, what? You mean... you're saying...?"

"Yeah," you said, swallowing hard. "I'm pregnant."

The air between you went still. Rafe stared at you, eyes wide. "Oh shit. Are you serious?"

You nodded, feeling the lump in your throat grow. "I took a test. It's real."

His expression shifted from shock to an underlying annoyance, and he ran a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. "I can't believe this. we're casual jesus, Y/N. This wasn't supposed to happen."

"Trust me, I know!" you shot back, frustration bubbling to the surface. "I didn't plan for this either!"

Rafe paced away from you, glancing out at the waves crashing against the shore. "This is a lot. Like, way more than I signed up for. You were on the pill! How did this even happen?"

"I thought I was safe!" you exclaimed, your voice rising. "But clearly, that didn't matter. Here we are!"

He stopped, turning to face you, frustration evident on his face. "And what do we do now? Tell our friends? My family? They'll lose it!"

"Maybe they don't need to know right away," you suggested, trying to keep the panic at bay.

"Seriously? You want to hide this?" he shot back, disbelief lacing his tone. "This isn't just some secret we can keep!"

"I know that!" you yelled, your heart racing. "But we have to think about what we want first!"

Rafe shook his head, looking completely lost. "I don't even know what I want right now. This changes everything."

Silence hung between you, tension crackling in the air. You watched as he processed the news, his mind racing. "What about school? My dad... he's not gonna take this well. I can't even..."

His voice trailed off, and you could see the frustration bubbling just beneath the surface. "Look, I didn't want this either. I thought we were just having a good time, enjoying summer. Now it's like—"

"Now it's like what?" you interrupted, tears stinging your eyes. "A nightmare?"

Rafe hesitated, looking out at the horizon. "Yeah. A nightmare."

His voice was quieter now, but the weight of his words settled heavily in the space between you. "I mean, how do we even deal with this? Like, are we supposed to just keep it?"

"I don't know!" you exclaimed, your voice breaking. "But we need to talk about it. We can't just ignore it."

He ran a hand through his hair again, clearly overwhelmed. "What do you expect me to say? I'm not ready to be a dad, Y/N. I didn't sign up for this."

"Neither did I!" you shot back, your heart pounding. "But it's happening, and we need to figure it out. Together."

Rafe turned to you, his expression softening slightly but still tinged with uncertainty. "Okay, so what do we do now? Just sit here and pretend everything's fine?"

You shook your head, a mix of anger and sadness bubbling inside you. "No, but we need to talk it through. You can't just shut down on me."

He sighed, his shoulders slumping as he looked back toward the ocean. "I need some air. This is too much right now."

"Rafe!" you called after him, but he just walked a few steps away, clearly processing everything.

You watched him, the weight of the situation settling heavily in your chest. Part of you wanted to scream, to cry, to throw everything into the ocean.

The other part wanted to reach out, to connect, to make him understand that you weren't in this alone.
