Soonyoung promised to talk to them in more detail about the pregnancy the next day, and Zane showed them where they’d be staying for the night. Seungcheol and Jeonghan were given a room with a double bed, and both of them stood there awkwardly before Seungcheol broke into a grin.
“We’re mates everywhere except on paper, Jeonghan. And we’ll be that too soon enough. But if you’d be more comfortable, I could sleep on the floor.”
The omega shook his head, wrapping his arms around Seungcheol and pressing close to him. Seungcheol hugged him back.
“Long day, huh?”
“Long day,” Jeonghan echoed.
“Let’s get some sleep.”
“Sounds good.”
Seungcheol undressed Jeonghan down to his boxers before slipping one of his own T-shirts over the omega’s head.
Jeonghan gave a small huff of exasperation before smiling.
While Seungcheol tugged off his clothes, Jeonghan climbed into the bed and turned to watch with interest as he stripped.
“We could…” the omega ventured even as he yawned.
Seungcheol laughed softly. “Sleep is all we’re going to be doing tonight. Even if we weren’t in someone else’s house.”
He climbed in next to Jeonghan, taking the omega into his arms. “Five babies, huh? We’ll need to start thinking of names. And saving up for college.”
“College? How about baby clothes? Diapers? Cribs? How are we going to…”
“We’ll manage,” Seungcheol assured him. “Like I told you, I have some money put aside. With any luck, the orchard will start bringing in some income too. We’ll figure things out.”
His words did the trick, and Jeonghan settled to sleep against him. Seungcheol had so many questions. He was hoping Soonyoung and his pack might have some answers for them, not the least of which why Jeonghan was in the middle of a pack pregnancy when there was no pack to be found.
The next morning, unsure when they’d be heading home, Seungcheol drove into town to fill the car with gas. When he returned to the house, he found Jeonghan had been invited to eat with some of the other omegas. Seungcheol had breakfast with the other alphas then Cole showed him around outside. He was impressed by the space the pack had, though he could see why they needed it with so many energetic kids. When he got back to the house, he found Minghao waiting for him.
“There’s something you need to hear.”
Bemused, he followed Minghao into the kitchen where Soonyoung and Oliver were waiting.
“What did I miss?” he asked. “Where’s Jeonghan?”
“He’s with Josh and Daniel and their kids. I’m sure he’d be interested in hearing this too, but we thought you might want a bit of time alone to digest it,” Oliver said.
“Digest what?” Seungcheol asked, mystified.
“We’ve been talking about packs,” Minghao said. “These guys know a lot, and not just from personal experience.”
“We’ve been researching packs constantly since we got together,” Oliver explained. “Learning as much as we can.”
“They’ve just been telling me that the way a pack forms seems to depend on the type of alphas involved in its formation.”
