i let out a small huff as i watched yujin struggling to fit everything into his luggage. his brow was furrowed in concentration, and a quiet snort escaped my lips as he turned his head towards me, his expression a mix of frustration and desperation.

"noonaaa, help meee!" he whined, pouting dramatically like a child denied dessert.

a grin crept across my face as i secretly snapped a photo of him. it was a rare moment for yujin to do aegyo; he was the type who despised anything cute.

"nah, you can deal with your problems," i chuckled, switching off my phone and flopping onto his bed, reveling in the comfort. from my spot, i could hear his groans of annoyance as he continued shoving items into his suitcase, one by one. an idea struck me, and mischief sparkled in my eyes.

"i mean," i started, glancing over at him with a teasing smile. yujin looked at me with hopeful eyes, clearly expecting some sort of assistance. "you could always ask your beloved fangirls at school. i'm sure they'd be ecstatic to help you out." i wiggled my eyebrows playfully, fully aware of how much this annoyed him.

he sighed dramatically, rolling his eyes as he resumed his battle with the luggage. after all, his "fanbase" was scarily large—not just at his school, but at mine too, which was connected to his.

[flashback]
"ahhh yujin, marry me!"
"he is mine!"
"no, he is mine!"
the cacophony of fangirls echoed through the cafeteria as yujin entered, a look of sheer horror on his face.

me and the rest of the china gang sat at a corner table, stifling our laughter. however, mei seemed completely unbothered as she let out a loud snort. hao and ricky were no better; they were silently laughing under the table, their bodies shaking from suppressed giggles.

"you know, guys, i kinda feel bad for him," i said between fits of laughter, wiping away a tear as i watched yujin struggle to escape the adoring crowd.

"even girls from our school fangirl over him, even though they're almost a decade older than him," hao rolled his eyes, feeling a little sorry for the young boy trapped in the sea of admirers. he studied in the same school as mei, ricky, and me, so he could always hang out with us during breaks.

"oh my gosh, guys, i'm finally free from them!" yujin sighed as he plopped down in the chair next to me, looking like he'd just escaped a battlefield.

suddenly, a girl i recognized as jaeha approached our table, tapping yujin on the shoulder. "uh, yujin, i have a question for you. can we talk somewhere more... private?" she asked meekly, her cheeks slightly flushed. yujin stared at her blankly for a moment, clearly caught off guard. nonetheless, the two of them walked off toward the garden, leaving the four of us behind.

"i bet jaeha is confessing to him today," ricky said, continuing to munch on his food. i nodded in agreement, slurping up my noodles with interest. the zhang siblings exchanged confused glances.

"isn't jaeha like the same age as the both of you? she's three years older than yujin, oh my freaking gosh!" hao exclaimed, mirroring the surprised expression on his sister's face.

"yeah, and yujin's back," i added as my younger brother returned to the table.

"so, did she tell you that she likes you?" ricky asked, curiosity brimming in his voice.

"yeah, she did. but i said no," yujin sighed, finally taking a bite of his food, looking both relieved and slightly exasperated.

[end of flashback]

i snickered, recalling the events from the day before. it was both hilarious and annoying, mostly because of how yujin's fangirls would constantly drag him away for "private talks," leaving the rest of us with barely any time for a proper "group bonding session."

"so, yujin, will you miss your fangirls?" i shrugged, glancing at him. he paused, turning to meet my gaze.

"not really, but... i might miss someone," he replied, a nervous smile creeping onto his face, tinged with a hint of sadness.

"eyy, the baby of the group likes someone?" i teased, wiggling my eyebrows up and down for effect.

yujin shot me a side-eye, his cheeks slightly flushed as he continued packing his things.

i sprawled out on his bed, resting one arm over my eyes as sleep began to overtake me, the gentle sound of his packing lulling me into a comfortable haze.
