The air in the clearing was charged with tension as Noriyuki Himura stood poised, surveying the formidable sight before him: ten Elemental Golems, each a towering mass of earth and elemental energy. The Golems, formed from rock, water, fire, and ice, shifted and rumbled, their glowing eyes fixed on him.
Noriyuki: Seems like one monster was left out of the list.
With Phobos hovering at his side, its blades swirling in a calculated orbit, Noriyuki felt the familiar rush of focus wash over him. He had faced many challenges before, and this was just another test of his skill.
The stone Golem was the first to advance, its massive fists crashing down toward him with earth-shaking force. Noriyuki remained still, his expression unreadable. In a fluid motion, he activated Phobos, directing the blades to intercept the Golem's attack with precision. The blades collided with the stone fists, sending a cascade of sparks into the air, and he immediately shifted his focus to the next target.
As the water Golem surged forward, aiming to envelop him, Noriyuki stepped aside, the blades slicing through the liquid mass, scattering droplets without hesitation. He calculated his next move, noting the remaining Golems forming a semi-circle around him, poised for their onslaught.
The fire Golem erupted with flames, unleashing a torrent toward him. With an icy resolve, Noriyuki summoned the blades into a protective barrier, absorbing the fire's intensity without flinching. He watched the Golem's movements, analyzing the pattern of its attacks.
The ice Golem took advantage of the distraction, launching shards of ice. Noriyuki didn't react with panic or urgency; instead, he simply directed the blades into a shield, shattering the projectiles effortlessly.
He stepped forward, focusing on the stone Golem again. The remnants of its previous attack had left it vulnerable. Noriyuki maneuvered Phobos, guiding the blades to target its joints, striking with calculated efficiency. The Golem staggered, groaning as cracks formed in its rocky exterior.
As the remaining Golems regrouped, water and fire clashed together in a chaotic display, yet Noriyuki remained unfazed. He leaped into the air, evading the water Golem's grasp with grace, then launched the blades downward. They pierced through the water mass, creating a spray as it collapsed.
With only five Golems left, they charged in unison, a synchronized assault of elemental fury. Noriyuki stood resolute, calculating the trajectory of their movements. He centered himself, allowing Phobos to orbit around him before unleashing a series of strikes.
Each blade found its mark, slicing through the elemental forms with chilling precision. The fire Golem flared up again, but Noriyuki anticipated its move, redirecting the blades to create a barrier that absorbed the flames.
With a cold determination, he focused on the remaining Golems, methodically eliminating them one by one. The air crackled with energy as he maneuvered Phobos, each attack executed without hesitation or emotion.
As the last Golem fell, the clearing fell silent, leaving only the faint hum of Phobos. Noriyuki landed gracefully, the triumph of battle coursing through him.
The ten Golems lay vanquished, and he surveyed the remnants with a detached gaze. It was merely another day, another challenge conquered. He sheathed Phobos and began collecting the various remains that the golems had dropped. Scattered across the forest floor were an array of mana stones.
Once he had gathered all the loot, he settled onto a nearby tree branch and examined his status magic. He found himself capped at Level 20 until he completed the current quest assigned to him by the Catalyst.
