For the past few days, my mind hasn’t been in my work, especially since Rangmahal slipped out of my hands.
A promise made to Noor has to be kept—otherwise, she’ll make sure I never hear the end of it. I still don’t know why I blurted out that I’d give her Rangmahal. Now she’s definitely going to sulk about it.
She’s still a kid at heart, a little crazy sometimes, but that’s Noor for you.
But this Anami… what’s the deal with her? She’s everywhere in the news, yet she’s never stepped into the limelight herself.
I had been searching through news portals and everywhere online, hoping to find some clue about her.I needed to discover something about Anami. It felt like she existed in a bubble—visible yet untouchable. Every article and tweet spoke of her enigmatic persona, but no one seemed to have any concrete details.
"What is this girl? How is she managing to stay so hidden?" I murmured to myself, frustration creeping in. The more I searched, the more elusive she became.
I had to get to the bottom of this; there was something about her story that didn’t add up, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was more than just the rivalry in the music industry.
Humming the tune of my latest release, "Tujhe bhula diya han, phir kyun teri yaadon ne, mujhe rula diya…"
The lyrics... ahh, of course, they’re dedicated to her. Not just this song, every song of mine is hers. Every word, every note exists because of her.
Whenever I create something new, she’s the first to hear it. How could she not be? After all, she’s the reason behind every lyric, every thought that fuels my music.
“She must be listening... you’re listening, right?” I whispered under my breath.
"KD! Kab se call kar raha hoon, at least phone uthaa liya kar, bhai!" Ansh—no, The Ansh Mehta—barged into the studio with his usual boisterous energy.
[I've been calling you for so long, at least pick up the phone once!"]
"Why are you so worked up? Did someone ditch you again?" I teased, still lost in my thoughts.
"Ditch? Bhai, you're the one about to get ditched. The deal's gone, and that manager of hers says she doesn’t want to speak with anyone. Can you believe it? Kislay Dixit, and she doesn’t want to talk! Girls who’d die to catch a glimpse of your face are giving you attitude now!" Ansh’s rambling never seemed to end.
"I thought you'd seal the deal," I said, tension creeping into my voice as my expression faltered. He knows how much Rangmahal means to me right now.
"Don’t be upset, yaar. I’m here, I’ll handle it," he comforted, patting my shoulder.
I forced a small smile, pressing my lips together. "Hmm."
