I was sitting in my studio, working on the lyrics of a new song, when my eyes drifted to a guitar kept in the corner.

It was, after all, my very first guitar, the one my parents gifted me when I passed my 10th grade.

My parents... uff, I miss them so much. They're not here with me anymore; they’re in heaven.

Every time I think about them, I get emotional. Today, I have everything, but not them—the ones because of whom I'm here, making music, loved by so many fans.

I wiped my tears and brought myself back to reality. ‘If they were here today, they’d be so proud of me,’ I thought, brushing off the dust from the guitar.

It still plays the same melody; it's still my first love, and also my last keepsake from them. I ran my fingers across the strings and played my first tune, bringing back memories of childhood..."

"After playing it well, my soul felt refreshed, and I put the guitar back in its place.

Childhood memories started flooding back, those scenes that shook my very core. I never want anyone to go through this pain.

‘I feel so alone, Mom, so alone,’ I whispered, running my hand over her picture. ‘I have the whole world, but the two people who were my real world aren’t with me anymore.’ I held the picture close to my chest.

Lost in the darkness of my emotions, I suddenly heard a knock at the door. I quickly composed myself, gulped down the water on my desk, and opened the door.

‘Come on, man! Where do you disappear? You don’t answer calls on time or even open the door. My legs are killing me standing out there,’ Ansh complained as he walked in.

‘I opened it on the first knock, you lobster,’ I muttered softly.

He turned and stared at me for a while before asking, ‘Were you crying?’

Of course he noticed—he’s been with me since childhood.

No, I was just…’ I scratched my head, avoiding his gaze.

‘Oh come on,’ he said, hugging me tightly. ‘What’s wrong? I’m here for you.’

‘I just… I was missing Mom and Dad, that’s all,’ I said, accepting his hug and pulling myself together.

"To bol to sahi yrr main kal se Saree pahan kr aa jaunga tu mujhe apni mammy smjh lena bus tu roo mat yrr" he
Comfortwd me.

[‘So, should I start wearing a saree from tomorrow? Just think of me as your mom, but please don’t cry,’ ]
