Scene 1: Maisie’s Apartment

The sun casts a warm glow in Maisie's cozy studio apartment, the faint aroma of fresh coffee lingers in the air. Ben stands at the door, hands shoved in his pockets, heart racing with anticipation.

Maisie: (nervously biting her lip) “Ben, thanks for coming over. We need to talk.”

Ben: (trying to lighten the mood) “Sounds serious. Should I be worried?”

Maisie: (sighing) “It’s just… I’ve been thinking a lot lately. About us. And everything that’s happened.”

Ben: (looking serious now) “I’m listening.”

Maisie: “I feel like I’ve been so insecure about us, about you… about everything. You’re always surrounded by these glamorous women, and sometimes I feel like I’m just… not enough.”

Ben steps closer, concern etched on his face.

Ben: “Maisie, you have no idea how special you are to me. It’s always been you, you know?”

Maisie: (surprised) “Really? But… you could have anyone.”

Ben: (smirking) “Yeah, but I want you. I’ve been trying to figure out my feelings for so long, and I can’t shake the memories of that first kiss we shared twelve years ago.”

Maisie: (blushing) “That was just… a moment.”

Ben: (laughs lightly) “A moment? It might have been enchanting enough that I couldn’t move on from it even after all these years.”

Maisie looks down, a mix of emotions swirling in her eyes.

Maisie: “I just… I’m scared, Ben. What if we mess this up?”

Ben gently cups her face, lifting her chin so she meets his gaze.

Ben: “It’s time we kissed when we’re sober too, don’t you think? We’ve had enough drunken kisses for a lifetime.”

He leans in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper.

Ben: “Let me show you how much you mean to me.”

Slowly, he brushes his lips against her eyes, then her nose, and finally her forehead. He trails soft kisses down her cheeks, savoring the moment.

Ben: (smiling softly) “You’re special, Maisie.”

Finally, he captures her lips with his, gently but passionately, officially sealing their new beginning.

Scene 2: After the Kiss

They pull back, both breathless and slightly dazed, emotions swirling around them.

Maisie: (smiling shyly) “Wow…”

Ben: (grinning) “Wow indeed. I should have done that a long time ago.”

Maisie: “I’m glad you finally did. I was so afraid of what this would mean for us.”

Ben: “It means we’re taking a leap together. I want to explore this, explore us. Let’s not hide anymore, okay?”

Maisie: (nodding) “Okay. Let’s take it one step at a time.”

They share a soft laugh, the weight of their insecurities slowly lifting as they embrace the possibilities ahead.

Scene 3: Three Weeks Later

The passage of time has done little to ease the pressures of life for Ben and Theo, though their personal lives are taking different courses. Ben’s relationship with Maisie has blossomed in secret, while Theo finds himself sinking deeper into the responsibilities of Palmer Industries.

Ben’s Office – Late Afternoon

Ben leans back in his chair, rubbing his temple as the team meeting comes to an end. His team at Palmer Retail lost the winter fashion expo bid to the Langtons, a rival company, and it’s clear the disappointment lingers in the air.

Ben: (frustrated) “We can’t afford to keep losing bids like this. The Langtons have taken too many of our contracts this year.”

His employees exchange uneasy glances, sensing the tension.

Ben’s Employee: “We’ll work harder, Mr. Palmer. We’ll strategize better next time.”

Ben: (sighing) “I need results, not promises. We’ve been playing catch-up for too long. Let’s make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

The team disperses, leaving Ben alone in the conference room. He checks his phone, reading an old message from his father, Patrick, advising him to patch things up with Theo.

Patrick (message): This is the right time to talk to Theo, son. It’s about more than just family – it’s about the future of the company too. Don’t make the same mistakes I did.

Ben frowns, considering his father’s words. He pulls out his phone and sends a quick message to Theo, hoping for a chance to reconnect.

Ben (message): We need to talk. Can we meet up soon?

He stares at the screen, waiting for a reply that doesn’t come. Theo’s busy, as usual.

Scene 4: Theo’s New Role

At Palmer Industries Headquarters, Theo is deep in his role as CEO. His desk is cluttered with contracts and proposals, but he has just secured a major deal for Palmer Electricals – a contract to manufacture audio units for Vauxhill cars. His assistant stands nearby, briefing him on the latest updates.

Assistant: “Congratulations on the Vauxhill deal, sir. This could set us up for significant growth over the next two years.”

Theo: (nodding, but looking exhausted) “Yeah, it’s a big win. But there’s still so much to do. Keep me updated on the next phase of production.”

As Theo leans back in his chair, his phone rings. It’s his father, Arthur.

Arthur: “Theo, I need you to clear your schedule for this Saturday. We’re attending the charity gala.”

Theo: (groaning internally) “Dad, I’ve got a lot on my plate—”

Arthur: “No excuses. This event happens every four years, and it’s one of the most important networking opportunities in the business world. You can’t miss it.”

Theo sighs, knowing there’s no way out of it.

Theo: “Fine. I’ll be there.”

Scene 5: Ben and Maisie Prepare

Meanwhile, Ben receives the same invitation for the charity gala. Sitting in his office, he glances at the elegant card, an idea forming in his mind. He picks up his phone and calls Maisie.

Ben: (playfully) “Hey, guess what? You’re coming with me to a charity gala this Saturday.”

Maisie: (on the other end, sounding surprised) “A gala? Ben, I don’t know… That’s a big deal, and I’m not exactly comfortable being in the spotlight.”

Ben: (reassuring) “Come on, Maisie. You’re beautiful, successful, and more than capable of handling a crowd. Plus, I want the world to know you’re with me.”

Maisie: (hesitant) “But Ben, what if—”

Ben: (interrupting gently) “No ‘buts,’ Maisie. I want you by my side. I’m proud of us, of you. And if you’re worried, we’ll talk about it, okay?”

There’s a pause before Maisie responds.

Maisie: (softly) “Okay, I’ll come. But only if you promise not to ditch me for all those business people.”

Ben: (laughing) “Deal. I’ll be glued to your side the entire night.”

They hang up, and Ben smiles to himself, relieved that Maisie agreed. He’s ready to take their relationship to the next level, even if the world’s eyes will be on them.
