In just a few days, the Ning'an County Public Security Bureau notified the program crew that the creature spotted that night was just a baboon that had wandered into Ning'an County, known for its slightly protruding teeth. As for the red fur, it was simply a trick of light refraction in a special environment that made it look dazzling.

The two eyewitnesses confirmed this, so the mysterious monster sighting case was closed just like that.

Lila Ling finally wrapped up her daily visits at the Ling family and set the filming schedule for the next episode of "Y or N Reasoning Society."

This time, the shooting location was chosen in a Yi village in western Sichuan, known for its picturesque surroundings and two nearby bays, one of which was a famous national tourist spot.

She was really looking forward to this trip.

However, the Ling family was not very supportive.

Now that they had found her, they wanted her to stay at home to build their relationship and catch up on everything she had experienced over the past decade.

A decade! That crucial period in life where one needs family care and support had just slipped by. They had so many questions about how she had been in school, what her daily life had been like, whether she had faced bullying, and if she remembered how they had tried to help her find her way home. All these things were murky at best.

When they brought her back from the hospital, they had checked her previous records, but it was just a short statement: survived the Dalinggou flash flood, entered an orphanage at eleven, and dropped out of middle school.

Nothing about being abducted, and they didn't know why she had ended up in Dalinggou. Was the person who kidnapped her from there? Perhaps, but they had died years ago, and there was no one to ask. Digging deeper into her past could potentially trigger painful memories, so they chose to tread lightly.

Lucas Ling had also visited the orphanage, noting the low walls and the dilapidated rooms. When he arrived, a social worker was busy organizing donated clothes that were colorful but often too big or too small, and not a single set fit her properly.

He felt out of place in his suit and tie.

After visiting, Lucas Ling returned home and remained silent for a long time. It was hard to imagine that his biological sister had lived such a life, starkly different from the one he and his adopted sister, Nina Ling, had led. They had attended the most elite schools, been driven around in luxury cars, enjoyed the finest meals, traveled abroad frequently, and their wardrobes overflowed with clothes costing thousands.

Thus, it seemed natural that she wouldn't bond with them upon returning home, and their desire to compensate her was equally justified.

Lila Ling's current room was the largest and brightest in the house, and she also owned two villas and more money than she could spend. Her closet was filled with clothes that could last her a year without repeating a single outfit.

But Lila Ling didn't particularly like it—except for the sunlit balcony.

When the program crew's notification came, she casually packed two pieces of clothing and didn't even bring a suitcase, just slinging a bag over her shoulder as she headed out.

Megan was sitting in the garden on the first floor, enjoying her morning tea, facing a wealthy lady wearing a striking emerald necklace, the gemstone the size of a cat's eye, glinting prominently around her neck.

When she saw Lila Ling come down, Megan stood up and pushed a packed suitcase toward her, gently asking, "Are you really going? Mom was planning to take you to see your estate; your dad had a birdcage garden built there, which can house many beautiful birds..."
