❝ .. BUT FOR NOW I'm focused on building the brand and I can announce for sure that next week we will have our first drop. ❞ Morgan readjusted the microphone that was in front of her face for the third time.
She was nervous and her actions reflected that. Anyone who knew her knew that she fidgeted in those moments. But to those who were listening in live didn't know that. Her voice carried a warmth that made her sound approachable, yet professional—a perfect blend.
Delilah, a well-known voice on the Metro Atlanta radio, leaned forward with a grin. "I'll definitely say that I am so proud of you Morgan. I think it's safe to say that you're inspiring a lot of young girls out there and letting them know that with hard work you can do anything."
"But there is something else that has been going around for a little while that I'm sure a lot of people would like to know about." Delilah gave Morgan a mischievous look, her eyes twinkling with the thrill of a rumor that had been going around.
Morgan felt her heart skip a beat, sensing what might be coming. She forced a polite smile, reminding herself to stay calm and collected.
Delilah continued, "So a couple weeks ago, a music video dropped, from rapper King Von himself – and in the video there's a part that caught fans attention – a picture that looks like it could be you. Now, I have to ask because the people are dying to know... is it true? Were you two... more than friends?"
Morgan's cheeks warmed, and she chuckled, managing to sound amused rather than flustered. "You know, I was wondering if that was going to come up, especially with all his fans in my dms asking." she admitted, keeping her tone light.
Delilah laughed. "I couldn't let you go without asking! You can't blame me."
Morgan sat back in her chair, pressing her lips together as the question lingered in the air. She'd anticipated that someone might ask about her past with Von once it came out, but hearing it out loud felt different—intense. She was here to promote her business, not to stir up old memories.
Should she even address it?
What if it only caused some unnecessary drama in her life?
She hesitated, her mind racing through potential responses, before Delilah's voice cut through her thoughts.
"Before you answer that, I do want to mention that he also did mention your name in his interview he did this morning." Delilah let the information hang between them as she signaled to her producer, who quickly queued up the clip.
The deep and yet still soft tone of Von's voice filled the room, a warmth and nostalgia woven into his words as he spoke.
"Yeah, I been in love before. Ha' name's Morgan. My first love for real." he said in the recording, his tone softer than usual. "Since we was kids. You know every nigga got that one girl that was there before the money and allat other shit. She was that for me."
