Over the course of a couple of weeks, I'd head to the inn to fix an almond tofu for Xiao every now and then. Knowing how busy he is, I thought he'd appreciate it. I didn't leave a note like the first time, he probably knew it's still me though.

"God damnit..." I say to myself quietly "The inns out of milk...." I let out an annoyed sigh and facepalmed. I grab my bag and head out to grab some milk, leaving the half-made tofu out.

I finally got back to the kitchen, just to encounter Xiao, just analyzing the halfway made tofu concoction. I stood there kind of shocked. Not knowing if I should stay quiet or say something. Eventually I clear my throat to break the silence, he turned his head gently and his golden eyes locked with my e/c eyes.

"So you are the one making this. You make good almond tofu." He softly smiles and looks back at the counter. I giggle nervously. "Thank you, the inn ran out of milk so I ran out to grab some. Let me finish this, give me one sec!" I say with a smile, continuing to make the tofu. Xiao nods and heads up to the top floor of the inn.

I continue to make his tofu swiftly. I finish it pretty quickly and head up, expecting him not to be there, but there he was. He was looking at the scenery, like he hasn't seen it a million times by now. He thanks me and begins to eat.

I join him at looking at the scenery. It was quiet for a few moments, before he broke the silence. "I don't really tell anyone about me but I'm starting to like you. Plus your almond tofu keeps getting better." He snickers before continuing to eat. I let out a chuckle, "Yeah, I also tend to hide. Not for any real reason, just because you can't really trust anyone, you know?" Xiao nods, "Yeah, I had to learn that the hard way..." He chuckles bitterly, finishing the dish. Expecting him to leave right after, I start to clean up, but he stays. "You know, you're not too bad." My cheeks flush a slight pink at Xiao's words. "Oh! Thank you..!" I exclaimed with a nervous chuckle. He let out a small snicker before taking his leave.

Never in a million years did I think I'd blush at words from a vampire. But here I am.

I grab Xiao's plate and run to the kitchen of the inn, unable to think of anything but Xiao's words. Cleaning up to distract myself, but it's no good.

I sigh as I finish cleaning up, "What the hell now!" I murmur to myself. I leave the inn and make my way back to the Jade Chamber, still thinking about Xiao. '"You're not too bad" what on teyvat could that even mean in his mind!' I start to overthink the whole situation as a whole, coming up with new, but stupid things those words could mean to him. I walk in, unintentionally ignoring everyone, unable to hear them being lost in my own mind and head to my room. "UGH I hate this! Why'd i accept this mission!" I say, sighing to myself.
