Being in a long-distance relationship was hard. There were moments when Y/N and Vinnie would lay in bed at night, staring at the ceiling, each wishing they could just reach out and touch the other. They longed for the comfort of being home with each other after a long day, not just talking through a screen. It was exhausting, and lately, the distance had hit them both harder than usual.

Every day felt like a battle against the loneliness. They missed each other tremendously, and FaceTime calls and frequent texts just weren't enough anymore. They were suffering in silence, feeling the ache of absence in their bones. Vinnie was particularly affected, his stress levels skyrocketing with work obligations. He worried about pushing out enough content and keeping up with the demands of his career, all while the weight of their separation pressed down on him. He felt lost and overwhelmed, sinking into a dark place where he could barely see the light.

Y/N could sense his struggles even from afar. She noticed the way he would sigh heavily at the end of their calls, the way his laughter didn't quite reach his eyes anymore. Her heart ached for him, for them, and she knew she had to do something. Without hesitation, she cleared her schedule for the next few weeks and caught the first flight out to LA, determined to surprise him.

When she arrived in LA, Vinnie offered to pick her up from the airport, but Y/N decided on an Uber instead, wanting to surprise him at home. As she stepped through the front door, she was immediately bombarded by the girls. "Oh my god, Y/N!" Mia squealed, rushing up to her. "When did you land?"

"We missed you!" someone else chimed in. "Come help me film!"

It all sounded promising, but Y/N's heart was already racing with excitement at the thought of seeing Vinnie. She wanted to get to him, to wrap her arms around him and feel his warmth again.

"Umm, I'll catch up with you guys later. I just haven't seen Vinnie yet," Y/N explained apologetically.

"Oh no, go ahead! We totally understand!" Mia said with a knowing smile.

Y/N nodded gratefully and hurried up to Vinnie's room. As she stepped inside, she found him still nestled in bed, looking both exhausted and peaceful. She dropped her bags at the door, petting Hera, their beloved dog, as she made her way over. The sight of him stirred something deep within her, a longing she had felt for far too long.

With a gentle smile, she slid off her jacket and climbed into bed beside him. She leaned down, pressing soft kisses on his forehead, his nose, his cheeks, and finally capturing his lips in a tender kiss.

"Hi baby, I've missed you," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

Vinnie stirred, a smile breaking through his sleepy demeanor as he pulled her closer, his arms wrapping around her waist. "I've missed you too," he replied, burying his face in her chest, inhaling her familiar scent that he had craved for weeks.

For a few blissful minutes, they stayed wrapped in each other's arms, savoring the warmth and comfort they had both yearned for. But the moment was short-lived when Thomas popped his head through the door, interrupting their precious time.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we need Y/N," he said, looking a bit sheepish.

Y/N's eyes flickered to Vinnie, not wanting to leave him so soon after being apart. She could see the reluctance in his gaze, both of them not wanting to break the moment. With a small sigh, she held his hand and whispered a quiet thank you, knowing he wasn't in the best place mentally.

"Come on, let's go," Vinnie said softly, rising from the bed and following her into the chaos of the house.

Thomas and Alex dragged her around for various tasks, collecting paperwork and discussing new brand deals. To make matters more chaotic, friends from another content house showed up once they heard Y/N was in town, adding to the whirlwind of activity.

Y/N felt like she was being pulled in a million directions, and it was becoming unbearable. All she wanted was to curl up in bed with Vinnie and feel his arms around her, but she also didn't want to let her friends down. She played nice, knowing that if she could just endure a little longer, she would have her time with Vinnie later.

Throughout the evening, Vinnie held on to her tightly, his hand resting on her waist or wrapped around hers, just wanting to feel some part of her. It was clear he felt neglected, but he understood that she was trying her best to manage the demands of her friends and the content. She made every effort to include him in conversations, throwing him apologetic glances or rubbing circles on the back of his hand to reassure him that everything would be okay soon.Everyone eventually gravitated toward the kitchen, some making content, some digging into leftover food, while others engaged in animated discussions. Y/N tried to keep up, sitting on Vinnie's lap, but it became increasingly difficult. Vinnie buried his face in her neck, inhaling her signature scent, feeling the familiar comfort of her presence.

It wasn't long before Y/N felt Vinnie's body start to shake lightly, and she realized that warm tears were soaking into her skin. Alarmed, she pulled away slightly to look at him, her heart dropping as she recognized the pain in his eyes.

"Let's go," she murmured softly, excusing them from the conversation as she led him to his room.

Once inside, she sat next to him on the bed, taking his face in her hands as more tears began to fall. "V, baby. What's wrong?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I-I've just been feeling really shitty lately," he admitted, his voice trembling.

Without hesitation, Y/N climbed into his lap, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. He held her as if she were the only thing keeping him grounded, terrified to let go. To anyone else, it might have looked like an intimate position, but to them, it was simply a safe haven—a moment of pure intimacy where they could be vulnerable with each other.

"I'm so sorry for not realizing sooner," she whispered into his hair, her heart aching for him. "I shouldn't have let them keep me down there. I could have come up with you earlier. What can I do to help?"

Hearing those words warmed him from the inside out. All he had ever wanted was someone to listen, to be there for him, and here was Y/N, willing to do whatever it took to make him feel better. In that moment, he truly believed he had found his person. Her presence brought him more comfort than he could express.

"It's okay, love. All I want is you," he murmured against her neck. "Tell me about your trip."

Y/N smiled softly, her fingers massaging his scalp as she relaxed into him. "Well, it's beautiful out there, but nothing compares to coming home to you every day. The sunsets were the best part—so vibrant and full of color, but still... it's not the same without you."

As she spoke, Vinnie's tense body began to relax. Y/N continued sharing little anecdotes from her trip, her words soothing him like a gentle lullaby. Eventually, the sound of her voice mixed with her tender touch lulled him into a peaceful sleep.

Once she noticed he was drifting off, she gently pulled the covers back and slipped off her pants and shirt, wanting to be skin-to-skin with him—the way he loved to sleep. When she climbed back into bed, she settled against his chest, pulling him close.

As she lay there, heart beating in sync with his, she realized that this moment—this blissful tranquility—was what she had been craving for months. She made a mental note to call her manager first thing in the morning to let her know that she couldn't be away from Vinnie any longer.

"Thank you for being my safe haven," she whispered softly, her eyes fluttering closed as she drifted off to sleep next to him, feeling utterly complete in his arms.

"I love you, my sweet boy," she murmured before finally surrendering to the comfort of their shared warmth, knowing that they could face whatever challenges lay ahead together.
