I woke up the next morning to hear the thunder rolling and the sound of pebbles banging against my windows. I groaned as I rolled over and put my head under the covers. Ten minutes later, I took a shower and went downstairs to eat breakfast. It seemed really quiet, I went to the kitchen and no one was there. "They always do this," I whispered to myself. I grabbed the box of Cap'n Crunch and the carton of milk from the refridgerator, five minutes later my brother came downstairs.

"Hey!" I said, "Where did everyone go?" I continued.

"How the hell am I suppose to know?" he smirked, "I just woke up!" he sighed. For a nine year old who still believe in cooties, he sure has an attitude problem.

"It was just a question Danny!" I smiled. He threw a paper at me which looked to me like a grocery list and directions to where my dads credit card is.

"We have to go grocery shopping!" I frowned putting my bowl in the sink.

"I don't want to!" Danny yelled.

"I don't care what you want, you can't stay here by yourself!" I shouted and ran upstairs to my room, the rain had stopped and the sun was coming out. I threw on a pair of jean shorts, a blue tank top and blue flip flops. When I got downstairs I didn't see my brother. 'Whatever!' I muttered. I wasn't in the mood to look for him. I went to the car and he was already there. Twenty minutes later we were there.

"Can I sit in the cart?" Danny begged.

"Yeah sure whatever!" I rolled my eyes helping him into the cart and giving him the list. Not even halfway through shopping, Danny started talking. I swear he's like a parakeet that won't shut up, he just goes on and on. 'No wonder you don't have friends' I thought. Then I laughed out loud.

"What's so funny?" he asked with a confused look on his face.

"Nothing, Nothing," I smiled, "Proceed!" I said.

"What does Proceed mean?" he asked.

"To continue!" I told him. Then he continued talking.

"When are we going to hang out with Drew again?" he said looking at me.

"WE aren't going to hang out with Jes-Drew, but I am!" I laughed. I can't believe I almost said Jesse's name, I'm not even thinking about him but for some apparent reason his name just came to my mouth like that. Oh Boy.

"No fair Ave!" Danny whined.

"Ok fine, whenever we are gonna hang out again, you can come," I smiled,"but you have to stay of my way!" I warned.

"Whatever!" he said. "Are you guys dating?" he asked.

"No!" I turned my back to him, to grab something off the shelf. "Why?"

"That kiss said something different, maybe you should go out with him!" Danny said.

"He wants to take things slow!" I blushed. Then I wondered, why the hell am I telling this to a nine year old?

"Wait, what happened to that Jesse guy?" he glared at me. How did he know about Jesse? I hope he wasn't eavesdropping or he has a next thing coming.

"How do you know about him?" I squeaked nervously.

"Don't worry about it!" he said in his 'tough-guy' tone. That always made me laugh because he is so puny.

"Danny," I shouted,"What'd mom and dad tell you about eavesdropping?" I said.

"They told me it's wrong and I shouldn't do it and blah blah blah!" he smiled. I sighed and pushed the cart into the next isles. Bam! I crashed into someone.
