"Attention all students, La Rose High is on an official 48-hour lockdown. Nobody goes out or in the school's premises; please let the investigation take place. Thank you."
"My Mamá wants to take me back to Cuba; she says it's better because there are normal people there." Dina spoke and laid on the couch with her phone in her hand.
"At least your mother isn't thinking of moving to Ibiza; I hate that place." Sage spoke and adjusted her glasses; her eyesight is horrible when it comes to reading.
"48-hour lockdown is so stupid, I can't even do my morning runs." Sage complains.
Auburella walks out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around her neck, fresh out of the shower. "Beats seeing a person kill themselves."
Sage sighs, taking off her glasses and rubbing her eyes. "It's ridiculous. A lockdown won't solve anything, and we're stuck here doing nothing. They haven't even told us what's going on."
"Maybe because they don't know," Dina mumbles, scrolling through her phone. "Could be anything—another accident, another girl—"
"Or The Watch is messing with them." Auburella adds, her tone blunt as she picks up a hairbrush. "I've seen it before. People snap in places like this."
Sage shakes her head. "There has to be more going on than just that."
The room falls quiet again, the weight of uncertainty heavy in the air.
"Well, Miles and I found something; I don't know if it's information worthy though." Dina stands up and walks to the classroom where Sage was studying; Auburella joins.
Sage looks up from her textbook, her eyebrows furrowing in curiosity. "What did you find?"
Auburella, still brushing her hair, leans against the counter. Her natural, baggy eyes looked at Dina as she spoke.
"So, Miles and I were talking a few days ago, and I found this book on the school's history. After we did a little page flipping, we found out that our current headmaster is the direct descendant of the very first school headmaster."
Sage tilted her head and sucked in her teeth. "What's the name of the very first headmaster?"
"Arthur Hart." Dina answered. Sage raised her eyebrows and grabbed her phone from her pocket.
"I know that name..." she continued to scroll until she reached an old email from her father. "The Harts are the manufacturers of my family's winery."
Dina crosses her arms, leaning against the counter. "Really? When was the last time your father had contact with them?
Sage thinks for a bit before answering. "I have no idea, but the Harts have a manufacturing business. It's actually one of the top five in the world."
While Auburella and Dina took in the information Sage had just told them, she placed on her thick glasses and continued studying on her page. Not giving it a second thought. Before remembering another piece of information about the Harts.
Sage raised an eyebrow. "The Harts have a son, actually..."
Auburella, who had been gazing at her hairbrush, perked up. "Does he go to this school?" she asked, her eyes curious.
Sage shrugged, her mind still on the boy who decided to end his life. "I don't know. We should ask the boys," she said, referring to Grey, Yuto, and Miles.
Dina, sighed. "The school's under lockdown, remember? We can't go anywhere, let alone talk to the boys." She crossed her arms, frustrated by the constant dead ends they kept running into.
