Alana POV:

It was the next day. Reese, Rachel and Candice were slightly hungover after yesterday's fiasco but they weren't too bad. Nothing a few pills, coffee and breakfast won't handle.

Us girls had crashed in Rachel's room while the guys took the other bedroom. I got up early so I could make some coffee and breakfast for everyone. I took a good hot shower and got dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a matching cropped sweatshirt, I put my hair up into a messy bun leaving some strands out.

I made my way to the kitchen and looked in the fridge to see what was there to cook with. Unlike most college students who were surviving on instant noodles, Rachel seemed to be fully stocked with food and meal preps.

I grabbed the ingredients I needed for pancakes, eggs, and bacon. After I was done with mixing the pancake batter and eggs I turned around to grab two skillets out of the cabinets, placed them on the stove, put a bit of oil in the pan and turned them on the stove.

I turned back around, nearly jumping out of my skin when I saw Nicholas standing at the kitchen doorway. He had a towel on the top of his head, hair still damp from his shower and to top it off, he's not wearing a shirt. Just a pair of black sweatpants and god did he look good. Wait no Nick's my friend I shouldn't think like that, besides I just broke up with Eric.

How long has Nick been there? "Fuck Nicky, you scared the shit out of me."

"Sorry. I heard noises and came to check. Do you need any help?"

"Um yeah sure, can you fry the bacon and start the coffee machine?"

"Of course princesa." I blushed, I'm fucking blushing. I hurried and turned away, focusing on the pancake batter so he wouldn't notice my red face.

By the time we were done cooking everything and setting up the dining table, everyone else started making their way out the rooms.

"Oh thank god. Food and coffee, coffee and food. I love you guys for this." Reese said as he immediately sat down and started digging in.

"God Reese, have some decorum." Rachel rolled her eyes at her brother.

We all sat down to eat and after decided to lounge around watching tv until 2PM when we were leaving to go get my things from the apartment. I had called my landlord who was a sweet old man named Thomas. He was like a father to me and always looked out for me, so when I told him I would be moving in with Rachel whom he knew as well he was fine with it.

-------

We arrived at the apartment building and I was dreading this moment. Eric should have left for work already so I wasn't worried about that. I didn't want to go in. I don't want to remember everything that happened the other day or visualize it. How many times had they been having sex in my apartment?

"Hey, you okay?" Nick had asked me. It was just us two in the car together while the other rode with Reese in his truck and we drove in Rachel's car.

"Yeah, I just...I don't want to go in. I feel like this is all my fault. I should have realized sooner, I mean I knew we were drifting apart but I never thought—." God I didn't want to cry in front of anyone. I held it in this long. Why am I crying now?

Nick grabbed my hand and started wiping my tears with the other.

"Alana this isn't your fault. Please don't cry over that asshole he doesn't deserve your tears princesa. You are an amazing, caring and kind hearted person and you deserve better than that. Better than him. I'll be with you the entire time, so the minute you feel like you don't want to be there a second longer we'll leave, okay."
