Two days passed and Dougier was still wandering freely and seemingly unconcerned, meaning Wriothesley hadn't done anything about him yet, but it also seemed as though Dougier didn't suspect you of anything, yet.
He waved at you every time he caught your eye; it infuriated you, what the hell was he up to.
He approached you as you made your way to get your welfare meal, smiling at you as he said "good luck with tomorrows match"
You were no longer hungry.
You left the cafeteria area and hid out around the dormitories until it started to get quieter. You made your way to B5, the lower production level once everyone had finished for the day. Though there were no strict times for anything, most people didn't come down after evening.
You climbed up onto one of the platforms, leaning against the back of the legs of one of the disarmed Guardemeks. You enjoyed the warm glow of the lights on this floor, and the peace and quiet was the best part.
The sound of familiar heavy footsteps saundering towards you and the sound of crunching gears startled you from your rest as you jerked upright, looking towards the sound.
Wriothesley glared up at you, opening his palm as the smashed deivce fell to the ground "two days" he stated "two whole days of those stupid fucking alarms, I almost ripped my office apart!"
"Shame you didn't" you teased with a pleased grin "that would've been an improvement to your decor"
"You little-"
You skipped down the belt, moving out of his reach "maybe would've given better feng shui to that space, you seem a bit tense" he punched the platform and you felt it shake beneath your feet.
"Two fucking days" he repeated "do you-"
You jerked your head towards the elevator suddenly, convinced you heard something "shush" you hissed at Wriothesley before he could continue.
"Did you really just shush me? I swear to-"
You grabbed at the random objects in your pocket to throw at him, trying to get him to shut up while you listened.
He huffed as he was showered with an array of random pocket items, but didn't say anything. You strained your ears but heard nothing except the usual creaks and groans of the production zone. You sighed as you turned back towards Wriothesley, half expecting to see steam coming from him as he boiled with rage, but he looked surprisingly calm now.
"Now, you were saying?" you asked, your grin returning to your face.
Wriothesley let out a long sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose, forcing his frustration down as he looked up at you "did you notice anything odd in my office?" he asked.
"Other than your ugly snoring that matched your offices ugly decor?"
He pursed his lips and made a motion with his hand that looked as though he wanted to choke you but was resisting "was there anything on my desk?" he asked, quickly interjecting before you could make another joking remark "-other than my ugly face"
"Oh you're too harsh on yourself" you teased "in the right light you're actually quite handsome"
"Oh really?"
It was true he was quite easy on the eyes, but you couldn't exactly let him think you believed that, who knows how he would use that against you "the right light being total darkness"
He rolled his eyes "back to my question"
"What kind of odd you talking about?" you asked with a shrug.
He held up the pen. Your eyes widened slightly as your hand went to your pocket -your now empty pocket- you'd thrown the pen at him, his own pen, the pen you used to write the- "a note, perhaps?"
You shook your head, feigning ignorance "nope, didn't see any note"
"Is that so?" he hummed "well, whoever left it seems to have thrown the Beret Society into the proverbial fire"
You shrugged, pretending not to know what he was talking about as you added "that society has always seemed a bit strange, if you ask me. Jumpy and suspicious, all of them and not to mention their founder- but, you know, it's not like I know anything"
"Yeah, its not like you know anything" he echoed. He examined the pen before he slipped it into his pocket "nice pen, think I'll keep it"
"As you wish, your grace" you said with a dramatic flourish of your hand "so, when do my ten seconds start?"
He shook his head "relax, I'm not planning on chasing you- I mean, I was, but I changed my mind" he reached into his other pocket, tossing a welfare meal onto the platform with you.
You narrowed your eyes in suspicion, looking between him and the packaged meal.
"Your friend snitched on you" he stated plainly "said you've not eaten all day, so, eat" he guestured towards the meal before he turned around, starting to walk away "you've got a match tomorrow, too, don't you? unless you want another embarrassing defeat like last week, it'll be good for you to keep your strength up"
You pouted, annoyed at the reminder "I'm- I'm not hungry" you called back, sounding like a defiant child that doesn't want to eat their vegetables.
"It's your choice if you eat it or not but if you get lose, or get caught by me, because you collapsed from hunger you'll be pissed" he called over his shoulder, repeating "so, eat"
You watched him leave, waiting until you were sure he was gone before you moved towards the meal. You were about to disgard it when your belly let out a low growl.
Sighing, you resumed your seated position against the Guardemek, opening and tucking into the food.
