The day which she thought would the blessing of her life, now seems to be a nightmare that she wanted to get over as soon as possible. It was her wedding day but instead of excitement and happiness, her mind was clouded with fear and apprehension, heart piercing with the pieces of her shattered dreams, soul shaking in anguish.
She ultimately was going to get married to someone whom she hated the most. Who, she sure was going to make her life a living hell. But she was helpless. To protect her dignity, she chose to jeopardize her life.
"Mashallah Zara, you are looking beautiful." Sarah complement, covering her head with the white veil, matching her lehenga.
She was busy fighting her inner turmoil and didn't realise when they were done preparing her as a bride. Well, there's nothing grand there in the arrangement but still as a maid what she received was more than enough.
Soon Barat had arrived and she was taken to Zaidi Haveli for Nikaah ceremony.
"Everything is perfect Maulvi Sahab. Now you just start the procedure of Nikaah without further delay." Hammad Zaidi suggested to which Maulvi Sahab nodded and all turned to go towards the bride.
"Itni jaldi kya hai abbajaan?"
The particular loud deep voice, laced with sarcasm reverberated in the hallroom, turning noisy ambiance into pin-drop silence. Everyone stopped on the spot and looked at him curiously.
"Not again Shahveer. You are not needed here. So let us do our work peacefully." His father reprimanded in harsh tone, evoking a derisive snicker from him.
"Ohh I do have a very important work here. Tension na le apko hi madad karne aaya hu" He said smiling too sweetly. But his father was very familiar with that smile and he knew something wrong was going to happen for sure.
"To be honest I'm here to help the groom. Since Mr. Waheed is alone, and he will need witness for the Nikaah, so I brought two special people to be his witness." Saying he looked towards the doorstep and called out.
"Aap log andar aa jayein please."
Subsequently two women came in, one was pregnant and other one had a baby in her arms. Without saying anything, Both of them directly went to the groom and next a violent slapping sound echoed around the room, making all gasp in shock as the groom was on floor with and one woman took predatory steps towards him like hungry lioness while the other one was trying to stop her.
"Shameless man! Despite having two wives, you came to marry again." She screamed planting another tight slap on her husband's face.
"Nargis stop everyone is watching......"
"Nahi Baji iss Bayhaya admi ko aaj katal kar ke hum dono ki zindagi key saari museebat khatam kar denge. Mere paas paise hai, mein achcha kamati hu isliye isne mujhse jhoot bolke shadi ki thi ki ye shadishuda nahi hai, aur hum dono ki zindagi barbad kar di. Aaj dekhein ye aur ek zindagi barbad karne aagye"
[No Baji, today I will kill this shameless man and end all the problems from our lives. Just because I have money, I earn well he married me saying he's unmarried and destroyed both of our lives. Today he's again here to ruin another life]
She pulled him upwards by the collar and asked through clenched teeth , " Kinte paise liye hai apne boss se iss shadi ke liye?"
[How much money have you taken from your boss for this marriage?]
Shahveer, who was silently enjoying the scene became alerted hearing Nargis. And looked at his father, he narrowed his eyes, as though appraising whether he truly did something so cheap or not. But then again it was Hammad Zaidi. He could stoop lowest of the low for his betterment and so called reputation.
