Inquisitive thoughts began to cluster in Itzel's mind. She observed the students swarming around multiple mini stalls like a farmer's flock of sheep. The number of stalls entranced her as she approached the first aisle.
"Itzel! Hey Itzel! Over here!" a cheery male voice exclaimed exuberantly.
She glimpsed to her right, scanning a few faces before recognising Elliot behind a mini stall themed around vibrant yellow daffodils. Elliot's bright smile was so radiant amongst the other students that Itzel couldn't help but smile back warmly.
His attire was semi-formal, he wore a short-sleeved white blouse paired with slim navy blue jeans and plain white sneakers. Attached to his white blouse was a long tie with a daffodil pattern, featuring a white background with evenly spaced out daffodil doodles. Elliot's hair was neat and combed, and a white ivy cap was found on top of his head adorned with round silver stud earrings. Also, pinned to his blouse was a name tag with his first name labelled on it.
"Hey Elliot. Don't you look lovely," Itzel greeted politely, approaching his stall as she observed two distinctive and asymmetrical moles under his eyes that she hadn't seen the previous night. She smiled and thought, "His moles look cute."
"Haha, thank you~" Elliot's cheeks flushed pink, "So, would you be interested in signing up for a club?" he eye-smiled, "Perhaps poetry club?"
His words were full of enthusiasm, Itzel tapped her finger gently on her chin as she figured that joining a club would help her to branch out and meet new people. Before she could reply, she sensed an innominate presence standing diagonally behind her and went as stiff as a board, the hairs of her neck raising slightly.
"Yes," a deep masculine voice said.
Itzel swallowed, tapping the foot of her sneaker against the pavement. She felt like her stomach was filled with a dozen butterflies trapped in a bird cage, swarming around uncontrollably. That voice alone sounded intriguing. She bit her lip and took a subtle glance over her right shoulder.
This guy was exceptionally tall, contrary to Itzel and Elliot's heights. His peach skin tone and wavy indigo purple hair paired nicely with his periwinkle blue eyes, which were practically screaming out charisma. The way he styled his hair was different from Elliot's, his hair appeared more spikey on the lower half and slightly on the messier side. He wore a neutral grey short-sleeved collar shirt, fashionable black ripped jeans with a formal belt that blended into them, and some black leather sneakers with white soles. His whole demeanour was uncanny.
"G-great!" Elliot beamed, "So, every Wednesday we will learn about a wide range of poetry and then we'll write some of our own! To learn more, please accept this pamphlet as it contains more details about the weekly activities we'll be hosting and session times."
The guy stepped forward, now standing beside Itzel as they both accepted the pamphlets from Elliot, eyes trailing across the paper. Itzel did too, though, she was more fixated on the guy, observing him discreetly with a side glance.
The corner of the guy's lips curled into a smirk, "Heh, I see."
"Do we need to write our names down or can we just show up on the day?" Itzel questioned.
"Oh! Well, if you're willing to join now I can get you two to write your names down on my clipboard," Elliot held up a red ink pen, pointing it at his clipboard on the table and then in Itzel's direction.
The guy abruptly grasped the red ink pen from Elliot's hand, chuckling lightly, "Haha, I'm willing."
"S-sweet!" Elliot smiled, his eyes widening a little from the guy's precipitance.
