I woke up feeling heavy, as if a weight sat on my chest. Glancing at the clock, I saw it was already 12 PM. I had missed my classes, and I felt a mix of regret and exhaustion. Rhea had tried to wake me earlier, but I just wanted to stay in bed a little longer.
Finally, I managed to pull myself up. After a quick shower, I realized I had no clean clothes. I slipped into one of Rhea's dress.
As I made my way downstairs, Rhea's mom, Aunty, was on the couch. She looked up and smiled. "Do you want anything, Aisha?"
I returned her smile. "No, Aunty, I'm good."
"Come on, make yourself comfortable. If you need anything, just let me know. I'm just like your mom," she said.
Tears welled up in my eyes. Aunty must have sensed it because she came over and hugged me. "Hey, silly girl, don't cry. You're just like Rhea to me—maybe even better. You don't break things at home!" she joked, and I couldn't help but laugh.
After a light lunch and some chatter, I decided to head back to Rhea's room to study.
All of a sudden, my phone buzzed, and I saw it was my aunt calling. I hesitated at first but finally answered when she kept calling.
"Aisha," she said, her voice trembling, "please come to the city hospital."
My heart dropped. "Hospital? What happened? Is everything alright?"
"No, your brother Aayush got into an accident. He's in a coma. Please come," she sobbed.
Despite the face that I really hated him, I knew I had to go. Family was family, after all. And aunty's voice made me feel like she needed someone at this time.

When I reached the hospital, I hurried inside and approached the receptionist. "Can you please tell me the room number of a patient named Aayush, he just got into an accident".
The receptionist checked in the computer and replied "Sixth floor".
I headed to the elevator. As I stepped out on the sixth floor, I bumped into someone. "Sorr—" I started, but then I stopped in shock to see that it was Ahaan, flanked by four guards???
"Ahaan? What are you doing here? Is everything okay?" I asked, concern creeping in.
"Yeah, everything's fine," he said quickly, avoiding my gaze. "Just had some work. Anyway, I have to go. See you soon... very soon, Aisha." His words sent a shiver down my spine as he walked away. For some reason, he seemed very weird to me, like "very soon he'll meet me" and also why was he having 4 guards with him...
I pushed aside my confusion and made my way to Aayush's room. The atmosphere felt cold and heavy. Inside, my aunt and uncle sat beside Aayush, looking utterly devastated. He lay there, still and lifeless, and a strange mix of anger and obligation churned inside me. Honestly...the amount of worse things he have done to me and...others he kinda deserved it...but then something unexpected happened... Aunt rushed over, her eyes full of tears. "Please, Aisha... only you can help us... please," she pleaded, her voice desperate. I was totally confused..."what do you mean?"
Just then, the door creaked open, and someone stepped inside. I turned to see who it was, my heart racing with uncertainty and..........
