The pathway to Shiketsu was his through his old preschool classroom. There was a tunnel that lead to an underground passage that looked, not only newly built, but far more advanced than anything Katsuki has ever seen.
He couldn't help but let out a comment of surprise. For two years, he had been running around from place to place, city to city, and yet it was only now that he saw something that's as gigantic---so big, they're taller than buildings---as this.
Eraserhead explained that Hero schools around the country have been connected through these underground passage ways for a while, only, unfortunately, after constant bombarding attacks from the villains, they have been forced to go undergound, and that Shiketsu was the last one standing. "We're working on mobility. Making sure that Shiketsu, when needed, has the power to flee in a moment of danger."
Not even to fight back, but run away?
It took two and a half hours of walking and there it was. The school stood on gigantic train-like railings that, as he recently learned from Eraser, could run ten times faster than electrical trains at any moment.
Eraser stood forward to the gates, spoke a few words, and was immediately let in.
Katsuki, of course, followed obediently.
Shiketsu wasn't only one school building, but multiple buildings in a huge landmass. Katsuki could only guess that the identical-looking ones are apartment buildings that house citizens, while the rest are other facilities that provide the citizen's and heroes' necessities. He has never seen anything like it.
Passing by people on the field, he spots a group of four kids in hero costumes tending to the citizen's needs. He kept their faces in mind, but one stood out to him as looking like a convenient store rip-off of the deceased pro-hero Ingenium that was murdered by Stain around two years ago.
Upon entering one building, immediately they had come across another group of four people that seemed to be fixing a mechanicanized part of the building. One of them being a pink-haired, goggle-girl that wouldn't stop geeking, and another was a girl that looked like she wears bathing suits on a daily basis.
"Hatsune. According to the manual---"
"Oh manual-shmanual! It's called experimentation! Don't you get it, Momo? That's the fun of it!"
There was a glare in Momo's eyes that told Katsuki that she was tired of her bullshit. "Then I guess you would not mind being responsible for the deaths of everyone if it just so happens that this building explodes because of your stupid little experimentation now, would you?"
No response.
"We are here to fix it back to how it was. Not turn it into something else. Do you understand? Do your silly nonsense in you own time. Awase. Kaminari. Assist her. I'm done with this matter." And she left, off to do whatever business she has in mind.
It wasn't any of his business, but the atmosphere was so grim between the three of them that none spoke another word and just continued working. Then he heard a sigh from Eraser, who had also been apparently watching the scene, but had nothing to say.
"Eraserhead, Sir." We heard, another group came from behind them. There were also four of them. None of whom, he recognized from anywhere, but one, disgustingly pink enough to glare and almost drill a hole through Katsuki's head before her eyes shifted back to Eraserhead. She dismissed the other three that stood behind her and they went off ahead. "You just arrived, Sir?"
"Yes. Just now actually. What business do you have? Is everything okay with you?"
"There's no trouble so far. We just arrived now too, actually. Group 6 will be coming out any minute once we report to the higher ups of our arrival."
"That's good. Keep up the good work, Pinky."
She nods, delivers another glare to Katsuki, and takes a turn to the hallway on the left.
Whatever she had up her ass was definitely something unpleasant, Katsuki thought.
"Don't mind her." Eraser said, but not adding anything, not even some sort of explanation for what the hell that was for or why. To which, Katsuki can only guess, is not something he's supposed to know.
Eraser then called for the boy named Kaminari, asking him, to bring Bakugo to a room in Dorm 3-A.
Kaminari's eyes were surprised, "3-A, Sir?"
"Yes. Preferably now, if you don't mind."
"...Yes, Sir." And they met eyes, a small smile on his face only for courtesy's sake, "Come on, follow me."
Katsuki was hesitant, but Aizawa assured safety. He didn't trust it, not fully, but, he went anyway...it isn't like he was a kid, he could fight for himself. These people were nothing.
"So, what's your name?"
Katsuki glared, then looked away.
"You're my age, aren't you? I mean, you look bigger, buffer, for sure, but you look my age. How old are you?"
Ignore him. He didn't need to answer.
"Hm, you look so familiar...do I know you from somewhere?"
He clicked his tongue. Snapped, "Can you shut the hell up!? So annoying..."
This caught Kaminari off guard.
"Eh...Why you gotta be so mean!" And he laughed, "But you answered! Finally!"
"What?"
"I knew I'd get you to! Haha! Oh! I haven't even introduced myself, have I? Hm, but how about you go first?"
"What..."
"Your name." Kaminari repeated,
"It looks like you're gonna be here a while. I'm sure I'm gonna be seeing you more often than you might think. Plus, you don't want to me just call you 'you' everytime I see you, do you?"He made a good point.
"...Bakugo." He said.
He echoed, with a smile and a face that peeked at Katsuki's face with a playful curiosity, "Bakugo...?"
"Can you just shut up? It's already annoying enough as it is to have to deal with Eraserhead. I don't wanna have to waste my breath on you or anyone else in this stinking place."
"I take it that's a no, then. Okay! Now I guess it's my turn. Bakugo, nice to meet you. My name's---"
"Yeah, Kaminari. I know."
"So you know already! I like that!"
"Shut up. I'm not stupid."
Kaminari seemed a little different from the rest, he noticed. Kaminari smiled more. He laughed. Gave an effort to make him feel welcome. Katsuki appreciated it, of course, but as much as the guy tried: it's all pointless. All that goodness, all that positivity, his smile, was gonna die soon. It was gonna morph into an ugly frown, eventually, like the ones his querty little hero friends had in their faces. Then all that glow would loke their shine just like every other person left alive. Whenever that was.
Katsuki looked away, and after a moment, asked, "So, what are you exactly?"
"Hm?"
"You a student of Shiketsu? Hero course?"
"UA, actually. Third year. Everyone that went to UA, and all other schools with hero courses, are here at Shiketsu because... well... all this. Everything's kind of a mess still, and the schools are looking for as much spare hands they can, that's why we're all cooped up in one place... Ah, I guess we're already here. Wow, I didn't even notice."
It was a room somewhere in the higher floors of 3-A building. Being him, Katsuki had manage to successfully memorize what pathways to-and-fro. As well as identifying potential danger spots, safe areas, and exits.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, Bakugo." Kaminari said before leaving him by the door. "I better get going."
He turned to his room, "Whatever."
