SUNGHOON lay in his bed that night, staring up at the ceiling, his mind racing. He couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in the bathroom earlier. The sight of Sarim standing there, frantically trying to cover the bruise on her chin, had hit him in a way he didn't expect.

It wasn't just the bruise that stuck with him, it was the way she looked. The way she'd flinched when he spoke to her, like she was waiting for him to hurt her too. He'd seen that look before. She looked so fragile, so vulnerable in that moment.

He remembered it, the incident after the karaoke club, her getting slapped by her (probably) father. But he just brushed it off as none of his business.

But now, the memory hit him differently.

That bruise on her chin. Her quietness. Her shrinking away whenever someone got too close.

The pieces started to fall into place, and Sunghoon's stomach twisted with the realization. He knew now that it wasn't just him she was scared of. She was living with that fear all the time.

Her father.

Sunghoon shifted in bed, rubbing his face with his hands, trying to get the image of her bruised chin out of his mind. He wasn't the type to get involved in other people's problems—he had his own life, his own pressures to deal with. But this... this was different.

The more he thought about it, the worse he felt. Was that why she never fought back? Why she always kept to herself? He had been tormenting her, messing with her for weeks, without even realizing that she had so much more to deal with than just him. And now that he knew, he couldn't unsee it.

"Shit," he muttered under his breath, frustrated at the uncomfortable guilt gnawing at him. He hated this feeling. He didn't want to care, didn't want to think about it. But for some reason, he did.

He turned onto his side, staring at the wall, his mind refusing to let it go. He knew what he had to do. He had to stop. He couldn't keep messing with her. Not after this.

Whatever was going on in Sarim's life, she didn't need him making it worse.

It was already awful. Everytime she would come home she would either get cussed out by her dad or beaten up.

She would earn money at the karaoke club and her dad would snatch it away the second she would get it and spend it on alcohol. Her life was miserable. And sunghoon bullying her made it even worse.

And sunghoon bullying her made it even worse
