CHAPTER 13

His father's company: WarDoom. It started with an idea in a garage. 'What if I could convert energy into weapons to save the world?' That was Donatello Warzinkey's motto. He believed in using weapons and technology to benefit humanity. In order to save the world, evil must be rooted from the planet by any means necessary. He did everything for his one and only son, Raphael Warzinkey.

Raphael rides in a limousine to his father's company. The new CEO has shut down all operations until his murder is solved. Newton believes it to be an inside job. Raphael agrees. A lot of people could benefit from his death, even his clients.

Raphael will vanquish the girl responsible for his murder. No one will stand in his way. Not even the Crystal Keepers or the evil aliens. He will use his mystical artifact to his advantage. Easy kill.

His chauffeur opens up the car door after he parked next to the curb in front of WarDoom. The doorman holds the door open. He is glad to be out of that stuffy school uniform. He is currently wearing black slacks, brown loafers, white polo shirt, and a black vest. He dresses to impress. His father always thought that a man should look his best no matter where he was or what he was doing.

He uses his father's keycard that his butler gave him to access the elevator. His keycard was deactivated, until his butler reactivated it. The more he thinks about it, the more furious he becomes.

Anima will die. He will ruin her like she did his father. That bitch will perish under the might of Faultline. That will be his alias. No doubt she is special and no doubt she is the hero who murdered his father. What are the chances they are two different people?

Six people sit around a table in the conference room. He recognizes Philip Newton, who is the current CEO. He never met him, but he had heard of him. "Who are you people? I requested to speak with the CEO." He says eyeing the man in a military uniform.

The man in the uniform gets up. A woman with long brown hair and pink streaks stands up with him. "My name is Marcus Ryder. I am a client of your father."

"I am Inspector Audrey Leonidas. I am overseeing your father's case. These two detectives are the leads: Victor Crane and Duke Miracle." She motions to the two men on the other side of the table.

"Name's Mason Bridge. Civilian contractor." The man wearing glasses utters.

Raphael Warzinkey takes a seat at the end of the table. "Let's begin, shall we? What do you know about my father's murder? This Anima girl."

"We tried, but no luck. After we put out the APB, the girl visited us and assured us that she was not the murderer. That girl was an imposter."

Raphael laughs. "And you believed her?"

"We had no reason to doubt her. She helped save this city." Victor Crane replies.

Raphael turns his attention to Marcus Ryder and Audrey Leonidas who continue to stand. "Why are you here, General?"

"Your father's work was invaluable to the military. It helped with the war in the Middle East."

"Is invaluable." He angrily corrects. "Now sit down." He commands.

The General and Inspector were quick to obey. "I apologize for my poor choice of wording."

"I want this case to be a top priority." He glares at the inspector.

"We have a lot of cases to work, with all the aliens and everything." Audrey Leonidas replies, glaring back.

"I do not care." He firmly states. "I was informed that he was going to donate technology to you. Solve the case and it is yours. You as well, General."

The General stands up. "Understood."

"Leave us." The teenager says, referring to everyone except for the CEO.

The five do as they are instructed. "Your father was a good man." Philip Newton states.

"So, you were his number two?" Raphael sighs, folding his hands on the table.

"Yes. I intend to make this a better world, just like your father had envisioned."

"You better." He warns. "I would like to start working here, alongside you."

"Very well. I look forward to it." He smiles, but Raphael can tell there is something off about it.

Faultline will soon make his debut.
