Chapter 6: Packing

Char's Pov:

I woke up to the smell of rose next to me, I turn over to see Mia already awake and dressed "good morning sleepy head, you sleep okay?" She smiles brightly at me, "it was the best sleep I've had in months, what time is it?" I get out while yawning. "It's 9am Char, you needed the rest after last night, it's Friday we can have a day off, you can go get your things and I will go get us some snacks from Asda, how does that sound?" Mia asks me about plans she's thought about "I'd like that Mia thank you, can it get a shower?" quietly replying. "Of course sweetheart you can use anything you like in the bathroom too" she tells me, I walk off and go into the shower.

I as I'm getting dry I noticed that my fresh cuts started bleeding again, I didn't know what to do I panicked, I didn't want Mia to see me like this, I didn't want to have to answer so many question why I done? Who caused me to do it? When did I do it? I just didn't feel okay enough to explain, I throw my clothes that I had on the day before back on so I can go get my things from mums house and say goodbye to Holly and Jackson they need a proper goodbye they don't deserve this. I walk out the bathroom to find Mia wasn't in the bedroom "MIA" I shouted looking around for her, I heard thudding coming up the stairs and an out of breath redhead in the door way "Sweetheart... are you okay?" She asks trying to catch her breath, "yeah I couldn't find you and I panicked" I explain on the verge of tears, she come over and puts her hands on my waist which cause butterfly's to erupt in my stomach "I'm not leaving you I went to make you some breakfast" Mia tells me kissing my head.

After breakfast Josh comes down the stairs "morning you two, are you ready to go get your stuff Char?" I'm asked as I'm pulled into his embrace Mia must have told him what my mum had said over the texts "yes thank you again for letting me live here," I cant seem to stop thanking him he didn't have to let me come and live with him but he did and I now know why Mia is so kind she has a brother like him. We get our shoes on and head out to the car, Mia puts on her playlist Girls Aloud "who knew you liked these" I say singing out the songs "I love girls aloud" she screams at me and I just laugh.

We pull into my drive way "Me and Josh will be back in an hour to pick you up be ready Char" Mia tells me before pulling away. I walk in to find my mum sat waiting on the stairs for me, "What do you think you're doing here?" Her tone cold which makes me freeze, I know she's been drinking and I know what's about to come, "I'm here to get my things" my breath shaky trying to explain, "HURRY UP THEN YOU FUCK!" I get screamed at. I rush up stairs packing all my things into a bag, when the door is kicked open and I jump out my skin, it's my mother with a glass of wine in her hand, of course she's still drinking it's all she cares about. I go back to packing and just ignore her and that when I feel a kick to my stomach and another one to my back and head.

I wake up I'm still lying on my bedroom floor, I hear my phone ringing:

Over the phone with Mia:

Mia: char where are you? I've been calling for the last hour why didn't you answer?
Char: I'm so sorry Mia... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I'll be down soon I promise.
Mia: Sweetheart, are you crying? Don't cry I'm coming in.

I'm still lying on the floor when I heard running up the stairs I pull myself into a ball thinking it was my mum coming back to get me again. I felt someone pull me into their embrace so I slowly opened my eyes I knew who it was by their smell it was my Mia, she looked at me with worry in her eyes and I burst into tears and cuddled closer to her. "I'll carry you to the car sweetheart don't worry, I'm here now, I'm sorry I wasn't here." She cries to me.
