Chapter 3: After School

Mia's Pov:

It was the end of my first day and I think it went really well, I even made a new friend, Char she's the most beautiful and kindest person I've ever laid eyes on. I didn't even realise I was zoned out thinking about how beautiful she really is until I heard her shouting my name, "Mia...MIA...EARTH TO MIA" she shouts giggling, I could listen to the sound of her all day everyday "Sorry Char, I didn't realise I zoned out, everything okay?" I ask coming away from my thoughts "Yeah, are you ready to go? I just need to go back to mine and get changed, but here's my number and I'll meet you at 6 if that's okay?" Char asks passing me her phone number, "Oh sure sweetheart, I'll see you then" I smile at her.

As I walk out of school to my brother's car I text Charlotte and tell her that I've saved her number and I will see her soon. "Alright Weasel, how was your first day?" Josh my brother asks, he seems to be in a better mood than he was this morning "god your so annoying dickhead, it was good I met a girl called Charlotte, we're meeting at 6 so I just need to get changed and head out." I explain to him with a small smirk on my face, I never felt this way about someone ever and it scares me, I don't do feeling well but who wouldn't smile around Char. "Sounds like someone has a crushhh!" Josh turns around teasingly, which earns him a punch in the arm.

We arrive home and I run straight to my bedroom to find clothes as I really want to impress her, I'm throwing all my clothes out from my wardrobe until I finally settle on gym leggings and a gym top, I finish getting ready and start doing my makeup while my favourite girl band is playing of course "IT'S THE SOUND OF THE UNDERGROUND THE BEAT OF THE DRUM GOES ROUND AND ROUND...INTO THE OVERFLOW!" I scream at the top of my lungs until I hear "KEEP THE FUCKING NOISE DOWN WILL AMELIA MAE ROBERTS" he screams from downstairs. God he's such a boring person sometimes I think to myself.

I'm now ready, I just need to put on my black and white Vans to tie my outfit together and a throw a jumper on and then I will head out and meet Char, I hear my phone ping so I take it out and smile when her name pops up on my screen.

Texts between Char and Mia:

Char: Hey Mia, I'm leaving now meet me at the shop that by the park not far from school, I won't be long see you soon~ Char xoxo
Mia: Hey sweetheart, just throwing my shoes and jumping on, then I'm leaving, that's fine I'll see you in ten minutes I won't be long~ Mia xox

I shout bye to Josh and that I will see him later, just as I'm about to leave he comes up to me and hands me some money to get food while I'm out, even though he can be a big pain in my ass I really do love him.

As I'm walking down the street I get a weird feeling that someone is watching me, I turn around to find no one is around or behind me. I feel really creeped out, it's like eyes burning into the back of my skull, I don't even put my headphones in I just carry on walking. My heart starts pounding and my hands get really sweaty "It's just your imagination Mia, you're fine he can't find you now" I say to myself trying to calm my anxiety down.

Surely he can't find me, can he? I moved away for that reason I needed to escape him, I needed to get away. He can't find me I can't move homes again.
