Malia was numb. She didn't know what to feel. She didn't have Kylie with her. She didn't know what to do with herself. There's a knock on the door but she doesn't respond. "Malia?" She sighs. "Lia?" She stands and opens the door. "What do you want Mel?" "Just checking in on you. We've been home for hours and you haven't left Kylie's room. You hungry?" She asks. Malia shakes her head. "You sure?" "I'm not hungry, Mel." "Kylie wouldn't wan-" "Kylie's not here, is she?!"
"No, she's not. But she will be in a few days and i doubt she'd want to see you this way." Mel rubs her back. Malia sighs. She walks out and goes to the kitchen. "Hey, how you feeling?" Ruby asks her. "I've been better." Malia mumbles. "I know it might not mean much, but at least Kyndra's in prison. You don't have to worry about her anymore." Ruby holds her hand. Malia nods. "I know, I can't believe i ever...." She sighs. "It's ok, we've all been there." Mel reassures her. Malia stands up. "I'm gonna go shower." They watch as she walks to Kylie's room, probably to grab some clothes. She reappears to go to the bathroom and closes the door. Mel sighs. "I swear, i could kill that bitch." Ruby rubs her arm. "She's fine. She's gonna be ok, and that bitch is going to prison." "That bitch should be dead!" Mel shouts. Ruby throws her arms over her shoulders. "I know, and i know you would kill her if you could. So would i. But this is the next best thing." Mel sighs. "I guess." Ruby smiles. "I love that you love Ky. I love that you're protective and brave and strong and everything that you are. But you do have some anger issues and you know that." Mel nods. "I know. But i also know that you know that i would never hurt you or anyone else who's important to me." Ruby nods. "I know and that's why i love you." The door opens and Malia comes out wearing Kylie's sweater and shorts.
"Hey Lia." "Hey sweetie." Malia nods. "Hey." "You want breakfast?" Mel offers. "You really should eat." Malia sighs. "Fine." Mel smiles. "Good." She makes them all pancakes as Ruby pours them all orange juice. "That better be pulp free." Mel tells her. "It's the only orange juice we ever get, why would there be pulp?" Ruby asks her. "How should i know?" Ruby rolls her eyes and pours it before sliding it to her. "Oh wow, thanks for handing it to me." Mel mumbles. "You're welcome." Ruby smiles as she kisses her cheek. Mel rolls her eyes. Malia watches them silently. She sighs quietly. She figured being with the two people closest to Kylie would help her feel better, forgetting that they're a couple, now she just feels even lonelier. Mel notices and pulls away from Ruby's hug. "Sorry Lia." "Sorry Malia." Malia shakes her head. "No no, it's fine." Mel slides over to her. "Tell you what. How about we go visit Ky in the hospital? I'm sure they'll let you stay the night even and you can help her when she gets out of the hospital tomorrow morning? I mean, they said they only wanted to monitor her for a day and she can come home tomorrow." Malia smiles slightly and nods. "Yeah, ok."
Ruby watched them. She was worried about Malia. I mean, she was upset too, don't get her wrong. That's her best friend. She'd be devastated if Mel was in the hospital. She can only imagine how Malia was feeling. "Hey, how about we go and buy her some welcome home gifts?" She suggests. "Oh yeah, that's a great idea!" Mel nods. Malia shrugs. "I guess." They all get in the car and drive to the mall. Mel and Ruby chat in front while Malia looks out the window. "Lia?" "Huh?" "We're here." "Oh." Malia gets out and walks towards the entrance as Mel and Ruby follow behind her. "I'm worried about Malia." "I know, me too. I've seen what depression looks like, it's not good." Mel sighs. "You don't think straight sometimes. The feeling is too overwhelming sometimes. You act on impulses."
They wander the mall, aimlessly going from store to store until Malia sees one in the distance. "Hey, I'll be back guys." She tells them. "You want us to come with?" Ruby asks. "No, I'll be fine, just continue." She smiles slightly at Ruby as she throws on huge shades, a feathered scarf and a hat. "Jesus, Ruby." She giggles. "What?" She shrugs. Malia shakes her head as she walks away. "You think she'll be ok by herself?" Mel whispered. Ruby shrugs. "I think so, i mean, we can't be there for her 24/7." Mel nods. "I know, it just, it breaks me to see her like this." Ruby nods and kisses her. "I know, it's cause you have a big heart." Mel sighs. "I knew i should have just been friends with benefits with you, i would have never gotten attached to you and Ky." She jokes. Ruby laughs. "Like you could resist not locking this down." She does a sexy pose. Mel smirks. "That's true. The things you do with your tongue, i swear...." Ruby blushes. "We do not speak of that in public." "Mhmm." Mel nods. "Need i remind you of what your tongue can do?" Mel shakes her head. "Oh you don't have to remind me, but if you need me to remind you...." She kisses her neck slowly. "Malia's gonna come back any second." "Ok, so?" Ruby rolls her eyes. "I know you like being watched, but not me." She pushes her away. Mel pouts. "You're no fun!"
They finally meet up with Malia again as they're about to leave. "Hey, where did you go?" Ruby asks as she spots some shopping bags. "I bought some stuff." "Some stuff?!" "Ok, a lot of stuff! Let's just go home." Malia carries her bag to the car. "At least she seems a bit happier." Ruby shrugs. "Yeah but is grieving shopping a very good habit?" Mel asks her. They head back to their place, Malia walks in and goes to Kylie's room. "I'm just gonna put this stuff in the closet and drawers. I wanna surprise her when she gets back!" "Ok!" "Ok!" Mel sighs and turns to Ruby. "You think she's ok?" Ruby shrugs. "I hope so. I'm worried she's getting too attached to Ky. I mean, what if she....?" Mel nods. "I know, me too. It's not healthy."
Malia hangs the new coat and jackets she bought. She opens the drawers and folds the new clothes she also bought. She grabs the last bag and reaches inside. She pulls out the small velvet box and opens it. She sighs. Was she thinking straight? Probably not. Did she care? Absolutely not. She was this close to losing Kylie, before she even actually had her. She was gonna change that. Soon. She places the small box under the pillow and sighs. "Soon." She just had to find the right time.
