Malia drove them to Yogurtland, they both got a small cup, which she happily paid for despite Kylie's protests. They got back in her car and she drove them to a lookout, overlooking the city. "I've never been here before. I didn't even know this place existed actually." Kylie looks around at the beautiful sight. The sun had begun to go down so its warm colors were shining on the city. "It's beautiful." Malia smiles at her. "Yeah, it is." Kylie can sense her as she smiles. "If i look over and you're staring at me, i swear." She glances over and indeed Malia was smiling at her. "I fucking knew it!" She laughs. "Can you blame me?" Malia smirks. "Where's all this confidence coming from? I like it." Malia shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe you just bring it out in me." Kylie smirks. "Or maybe it has something to do with you standing up to my ex for me." Malia nods. "That too."

They both laugh. "I'm sorry our little coffee date was kinda ruined." Kylie looks down as she plays with her empty yogurt cup. "Don't be, it wasn't your fault. And i still had fun. Standing up to your ex was at the top of my list for today." Malia smiles. Kylie laughs. "Well, next time we gotta stand up to yours." Malia sighs. "Yeah, my ex...." "Sore subject?" Kylie slowly pried. "Kinda. We went out for a little over a month. Um, she broke up with me. Turns out she's straight." Kylie's eyes nearly pop out of her head. "Wait, excuse me?!" Malia nods. "Yup, her exact words were 'i truly believed i was bi but turns out I'm straight.' but i mean, if she's straight, she's straight, nothing i can do about that now. But it still hurt, you know?" Kylie nods. "Of course. So what? She goes out with you for a month and then suddenly says she's straight?" Malia shrugs. "I guess so."

"That's fucked up...." Kylie holds her hand. "Yeah, i know. She said she still wanted to be friends but it just hurt too much, you know?" Kylie nods. "That's understandable. Gotta protect your heart, right?" Malia nods. "Exactly. Anyways, I haven't been with anyone since." Kylie squeezes her hand. "Well, you'll always have me." Malia's heart beat sped up. What did she mean? Have her as a friend? A shoulder to cry on? Or have her as something more? "It's getting dark, we should probably head back." "Yeah, you're right." Malia nods. They drive back to campus and Kylie walks Malia back to her dorm. "So, I'll text you." Kylie smiles. Malia smiles back and nods. "You better." "I will." She leans in and for a split second, Malia thought she was going to kiss her. Her heart beat so fast, she swore Kylie could hear it. Of course, it calmed down when she only kissed her cheek. "I'll text you when i get to my dorm." Malia blushes and nods. "Ok, goodnight Ky." She whispered. "Goodnight Maliki." She smiles. Malia closes her door as Kylie smiles to herself. She turns to leave when the door opens suddenly. Malia hurries down the steps and gives her a quick peck before running back inside. "Goodnight Ky." She smiles before she closes the door. Kylie smiles to herself as her fingers brush along her lips. She bites her lip as she walks back to her dorm. Their short kiss replays in her mind the whole way back. She unlocks the door and thanks god that Mel and Ruby were both asleep. She goes to her room and changes into her pajamas. She grabs her phone and sends Malia a goodnight text before she closes her eyes.

Ky ❤️  - sweet dreams

She's about to fall asleep when her phone goes off.

Maliki 🩵 - about you? 😘☺️

She smiles before she responds.

Ky ❤️ - i hope so, if I'm gonna dream about u too 😘

Maliki 🩵 - deal, sweet dreams

She locks her phone and sits in bed for a second. Her face starts warming as she thinks back to the day she spent with Malia. God, what was happening to her? Whatever it was, she was ready for it. Maybe this would finally be something good in her life. Malia sets her phone down and lays down. She stares at her ceiling, her smile won't leave her face. She hasn't felt this way in a while. She wasn't sure if she should embrace it or maybe slow down a bit. That little voice in her head said to calm down, to not get hurt again. But her heart said otherwise. She never knew being with a girl could make you feel this way. Or maybe it was just Kylie. It's just how she makes her feel. Maybe it wasn't girls in general but just Kylie specifically. Either way, maybe she could let her walls down a bit. Not completely, but just a bit. For Kylie.
