The continuous tapping of something against the ground was the only thing that could be heard, as we see Corruption pacing back and forth in a dimly lit chamber deep within the hideout, his mind racing.
The soft hum of Nomus' breathing in the adjacent room was a constant reminder of the grotesque experiments that had brought him into existence. His thoughts swirled with defiance, ambition, and doubt, as the memory of his conversation with AfO and Tomura lingered.
AfO: If you were to confront All Might without my consent, the thing you'll be receiving will not be a victory, but your demise.
AfO's words had been sharp, a warning delivered with the sternness of a master disciplining an unruly servant. Yet, the challenge still echoed in Corruption's mind. He could almost feel the weight of those words pressing down on him, a taunt to his pride. He was not just some puppet; he was powerful, and his power demanded acknowledgment.
Corruption: What if I succeed? What if... What if I kill All Might? Would Master finally see me as more than a tool...?
The possibility gnawed at him. AfO's scarred face, the sign of a past failure, flashed in his mind. Corruption wanted to be the one to erase that scar, to do what even his master couldn't. He wanted to prove himself as more than just a weapon to be wielded.
He wanted to be recognized.
His pacing stopped abruptly, and he stared at the chamber's only exit. He takes a deep breath, his resolve hardening, as each step closed the distance between him and the door. If he could take down All Might, the consequences wouldn't matter. AfO would praise him for his achievement.
His thoughts were soon accompanied by the soft creak of the door as Corruption reached out to open it. But the moment he stepped outside, his body froze.
He couldn't move a single muscle in his body.
He... He couldn't even think to...
A hand falls upon Corruption's shoulder.
AfO: And what do we have here?
Corruption: Master, I... I was... going to get some air...
AfO: Oh I see... So it's come to this, huh? You really think I didn't notice, Corruption? I told you that if you try to go against my order, there will be consequenc-
Corruption: *cutting AfO off* Master, no! I didn't mean to go against you! Neve-
AfO: *loudly* Silence!
Corruption abruptly stops talking and bows down to AfO.
Corruption: Master, I could never even dream of betraying you. I was just trying to prove that I can be much more than just a servant. I can... I can be your successor. That was all I was trying to do, I swear!
AfO's demeanor calmed down, as he looks at Corruption, an unreadable expression etched onto his face.
AfO: Is that so...?
Corruption: Yes master...
AfO: Get up, Corruption.
Corruption gets up with his head still hanging low.
AfO: Follow me.
The man starts to walk, as Corruption loosely follows, and they enter a room, with a dim light engulfing the room, and beside the room, a chamber remained empty, a bright white light illuminating the room, and the room being visible through a glass connecting the two rooms.
AfO: The creation has returned to the world he belonged to, and now he's started to defy me.
Corruption looks at AfO, worried about what the man meant by that.
