Lotus Pier was bustling with life, more vibrant than it had been in years. After the war, there had been so much to rebuild, but the unity and resilience of the Jiang clan, alongside the support of their allies, had brought the sect back to its former glory. But what made the revival of Lotus Pier even more meaningful was the presence of Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan.
Jiang Fengmian stood on the steps of the main hall, watching the disciples train in the courtyard. His heart swelled with pride at the sight of his children—Jiang Cheng, strong and steadfast as the new leader of Yunmeng Jiang, and Jiang Yanli, radiant with joy as she prepared for her upcoming wedding with Jin Zixuan. And then there was Wei Wuxian, his ever-playful yet loyal adopted son, now fully integrated into the family he had long considered his own.
“I never imagined we’d come to this point,” Jiang Fengmian murmured as Yu Ziyuan approached, her expression as stern as ever, but her eyes softening when they landed on their children.
Yu Ziyuan stood beside him, her arms crossed. She hadn’t lost her sharp tongue, but her heart had changed. The war had shown her the fragility of life, and while she had once been harsh with Wei Wuxian and critical of Jiang Cheng, she had come to appreciate the strength and loyalty they had shown.
“We’ve endured,” she replied quietly, her voice less biting than it used to be. “Because they refused to give up.”
Jiang Fengmian nodded. “They’ve grown so much. I see the future of the Jiang clan in their hands, and I know they’ll do well.”
Below them, Jiang Cheng was overseeing the disciples' training with his usual intensity. But there was a noticeable difference now—a lightness in his demeanor, a sense of peace that hadn’t been there before. Wei Wuxian stood beside him, laughing and teasing the younger disciples, helping them master their techniques with a mischievous grin.
Jiang Yanli, carrying a basket of lotus seeds, approached them with her characteristic warmth. “A-Cheng, A-Xian, come have something to eat! You’ve both been at it for hours.”
Wei Wuxian perked up immediately. “Shijie, you always know how to treat us right!” He bounded over, dragging Jiang Cheng with him, much to the younger man’s chagrin.
Jiang Cheng tried to keep his scowl, but his eyes betrayed him, softening as he followed Wei Wuxian to where Jiang Yanli had laid out the food. “You’re always distracting the disciples,” Jiang Cheng grumbled, though without much venom.
Wei Wuxian grinned, unfazed. “Come on, they need a break every now and then. Plus, Shijie cooking is the best in the world. How can you resist?”
As the three siblings sat together, sharing a meal in the warm afternoon sun, the feeling of family and belonging enveloped them. The war had torn them apart, but now, with the conflict behind them, they had rebuilt not only Lotus Pier but the bonds that held them together.
In the distance, the banners of the Jiang clan fluttered in the breeze, standing tall against the clear sky. The symbol of the lotus flower had never been more fitting—a reminder that even in the darkest times, beauty and strength could emerge from the depths.
As Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan watched their children, they exchanged a look. The future of the Jiang clan was secure, and they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, their family would stand united.
Later that evening, the clan gathered for a small celebration. Lan Wangji, Lan Xichen, and Nie Mingjue had arrived, joining the Jiang family in their peaceful haven. The once-warring clans were now bound by deep friendships and shared experiences. Even the Lan clan, known for its strict discipline, had found moments of levity and relaxation in Lotus Pier’s open and welcoming atmosphere.
The warm lanterns cast a soft glow over the water, and the laughter of friends and family filled the night air. Wei Wuxian, as usual, was the center of attention, entertaining the group with his antics, much to Lan Wangji’s quiet amusement. Lan Wangji, though reserved, was never far from Wei Wuxian’s side, his calm presence grounding the lively man.
Jiang Fengmian smiled as he watched the scene before him. “We’ve come far,” he said softly to Yu Ziyuan, who sat beside him, her sharp eyes observing the joy around them.
“Yes,” she agreed, her voice quieter than usual. “We have.”
The tension that had once existed between them, the years of misunderstandings and unspoken feelings, had lessened. They were still two strong-willed individuals, but they had learned to appreciate each other more deeply in the aftermath of the war. They had their differences, but now, more than ever, they were united in their love for their family.
As the night wore on and the lanterns flickered in the breeze, the sense of peace that had eluded them for so long finally settled over Lotus Pier.
The cultivation world was at peace, and so were they. No more battles, no more grudges—just a family, together, facing a future filled with hope and light.
