Just a warning y'all, Carl goes through it this chapter, and since the entire thing is in his POV I hope you're prepared to go through it as well.

"You fought back! You all rebelled against me, and thought you could get away with it! That shit will not fly!" Negan shouted from the courtyard of Alexandria, where he and his army had managed to gather up most of our people from Hilltop, The Kingdom, and Alexandria and forced them on their knees.

Carol, Enid, and I were the only ones who weren't captured since we had been outside the walls sabotaging savior vehicles and supplies. When the crew from the outpost we were currently at mobilized and headed straight in the direction of Alexandria we knew something was wrong and got our horses from where we had hidden them in the forest and made our way back to the community. Now we were hiding just outside the wall near the courtyard looking into the community through the small cracks between the sections of wall.

"How did they know we were all going to be at Alexandria?" Enid asked as she glanced between me and Carol.

I shook my head but kept my attention focused on my dad, Maggie, and Ezekiel who were all being held down on their knees by saviors. Negan was pacing in front of the three leaders with his bat on his shoulder.

"Now I know not all of you are this damn stupid!" Negan shouted as he gestured around the courtyard full of the combined military of our coalition of communities. "It's these three sorry fucks in front of me that started this," he continued as he waved at the three leaders.

"We have to do something," I insisted as my heart pounded in my chest. "He's gonna kill them... at least my dad, Maggie, and Ezekiel. Maybe more than that."

"Carl, if we go out there now, without a plan, he'll just capture us too and we'll die with all of them," Carol said calmly as she grabbed my shoulder. "There will be no way to save them if we do that. Negan loves to talk, let's let him do that while we make a plan."

I sighed in frustration but nodded in agreement and turned away from the wall. Enid and Carol stood in front of me with grim expressions on their faces.

"What if we released Shiva and let her at them while we ambush them from a few different directions," I said as I used my knife to sketch out a rough map of Alexandria in the dirt. "Carol go to the building Shiva is in and let her out then start sniping from the upper window facing the courtyard. Enid you go to this warehouse and shoot from there," I instructed as I pointed to a building across the courtyard at an angle. "I'll go to this one and do the same," I stated as I pointed at yet another building at an angle from the one Carol would be in, our three locations forming a triangle around the courtyard. "Carol give us a head-start so that we can get in place. Shiva killing the first savior will be our cue to start shooting."

I swung the assault rifle I was carrying off my shoulder. I holstered the Beretta at my thigh and sheathed the knife at my side, then made sure that the assault rifle was still loaded, which it was. I stood up and watched as the other two survivors readied themselves as well. Once we were all ready me and Enid went down the wall to a section that we knew would be hidden from the view of the saviors and climbed up over, into the community.

"Be safe, Carl," Enid said as we moved behind the building she would be stationed in. She gave me a fist bump and then went in the back door, quietly shutting it behind her.
