The next day, Devi's sister arrives with a young man. Devi sees her sister and says, "You're here so early in the morning?"
"Look, here's a boy from your college."
"Himesh?"
"You know him?" Sister asked.
"Yes, I know him. He's the topper of my college."
"Now say yes, he likes you." She replied.
Devi was angry that the problems in her life just wouldn't end. She said, "Yes."
Her sister hugged her, and Devi's father then asked, "Is the boy good?" Devi thought they were informing her, but her dad was actually asking her. Devi, frustrated, said nothing, and her father didn't understand what was wrong. Her mother, cooking in the kitchen, looked happy. Seeing this made Devi angry, realizing they were all happy because her marriage was being arranged. Her father asked her mother, "Lately, Devi doesn't seem sad. You're her mother. why don't you ask her?"
"What should I ask? This girl never tells anyone anything. she keeps fighting with her elder sister too."
Devi's father went to ask her, irritated at hearing her mother criticize Devi. He entered the room and asked, "Preparing for college?"
"Yes, Dad."
"Go with Himesh. he's waiting outside."
"No, Dad, what will people say?"
"Don't worry about that. leave it to me and don't look for a job. The person who caused the accident came to visit yesterday and gave more money. Don't worry. I'm able to walk with this leg now, and I'll soon be back at my job. Don't be stressed because of me."
Devi looked at her dad and thought, "How can I tell you the truth? How do I break your dreams, after all you've done so much for me?"
She said, "I'm fine." Then she found some courage and smiled.
Her dad smiled back. At college, Devi saw Janhvi, who was busy arguing with Vicky, while Yogesh was checking out girls passing by with his friends. Devi could hear Devika and her friends laughing nearby, and Himesh was with them.
Seeing Himesh, Devika said, "Hey Himesh, what are you doing here? Don't you study without attending college?"
Devi noticed that some people were smoking cigarettes on the street, and her mother's voice echoed in her mind, "You will become like those you sit with."
Devi thought, "Why do these people smoke cigarettes? They get high and then beat their wives, pretending to be tough. People think they're cool for smoking, unaware of the serious risk of cancer. I wish I could ban all cigarettes and alcohol in the world. they've made the world so filthy. I don't even want to go near such people."
Himesh replied, "From today, I'll come to college every day because my engagement has been fixed."
Devi was standing nearby, but Devika hadn't spoken to her. Devika asked, "Just sit behind me during exams. it'll help me a lot. (Himesh laughed) So, who's the lucky girl?"
"She's standing nearby." Himesh said shyly.
Devika looked at Devi in shock. "Huhhh? You?" she exclaimed.
Devi said, "Hi, Devika."
"You're marrying Himesh?"
Himesh wears glasses, introverted boy who mostly stayed quiet and was just good at studying. He didn't know much about dressing, had simple hair, and only talked about simple things.
Devika took Devi aside and said, "You're marrying this boring guy? What happened to you?"
Himesh went and sat inside the classroom. He didn't like crowds and was always reading books.
