That night, Amira was lying in bed she got a surprise call from zayd . He called to "check in " on her and asked her how the rest of her day went after they parted ways . Their conversation became more relaxed, as they talked through the night about life ,school ,drama, dreams ,family, and other random things.

Zayd: "I just wanted to check in on you.How was the rest of your day after we said goodbye?”

Amira smiled at the sound of his voice, warm and genuine. " It was good, just spent some time with my friends before heading home. I couldn’t stop thinking about the beach though. It was such a nice day.”

Zayd: “I know what you mean. I had a blast too. We should do it more often.”

Amira laughed, sharing a funny incident from class earlier that day. “You won’t believe this—our teacher accidentally walked into the wrong classroom. It was so awkward!”

Zayd chuckled, his voice warm with amusement. “I swear, every day in school feels like an episode of a sitcom.”

They continued to talk about random things—the latest drama at school, their mutual love for ice cream, and Amira’s desire to one day travel the world.

As the night went on, the conversation took a deeper turn.

Zayd: “So… what’s your dream, Amira? What’s the one thing you want to do most in life?”

Amira paused, the question lingering in the air. She had never really articulated it to anyone, not even to herself. But there was something about Zayd’s voice that made her want to share more.

Amira: “I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. To help people. I just… I don’t know, there’s something about it that feels right to me. I think I could make a difference.”

Zayd’s voice softened, and she could hear the sincerity in his words. “That’s amazing. You’ve got the heart for it, Amira. I can see it.”

Her heart warmed at his words. “Thank you. What about you, Zayd? What’s your dream?”

Zayd was quiet for a moment, as if thinking carefully. Then he said, “I want to be a teacher.”

Amira smiled, already imagining it. “I knew it,” she said with confidence.

Zayd sounded surprised. “You knew?”

“Of course. I can totally see you as a teacher. You’re patient, you explain things really well, and you have this calm vibe that people trust. I’ve thought that for a while.”

Zayd chuckled softly. “That’s probably the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me. But yeah, I’ve always admired the teachers who made a difference in my life. I want to do that for someone too.”

Amira nodded, even though he couldn’t see her. “You will. I know you will.”

They kept talking, sharing their dreams, their fears, and even small, random things about themselves.

At one point, Zayd asked, “What do you want most in life, Amira? Besides being a doctor.”

Amira paused, thinking for a moment. Then she said softly, “I want to be happy. To have good people around me—people I love and who love me back. And maybe... someone special to share it all with.”

Zayd’s voice became quieter, more serious. “I think that’s what everyone wants. To find someone who understands them and makes life better.”

Amira felt her heart skip a beat. The way he said it made her wonder if he was talking about her.

“Maybe,” she said in a quiet voice, “we’re both looking for the same thing.”

There was a small pause before Zayd spoke again, his voice warm. “Maybe we are.”

They kept talking, their connection growing stronger with every word. Amira found herself saying things she’d never told anyone, and Zayd did the same.

After a while, Zayd laughed softly. “We’ve been talking for hours. Aren’t you going to be tired tomorrow?”

Amira smiled. “I don’t mind. This has been nice.”

“It has,” Zayd agreed. “We’ll talk again soon, right?”

“Of course,” Amira replied.

When they said their goodbyes, Amira hung up and placed her phone on the nightstand. Lying in bed, she felt a happiness she hadn’t felt in a long time.

Zayd wasn’t just someone she liked—he was someone she could imagine a future with. And tonight had made her believe it even more.
