A/N: The gang work to stop a wesen lawyer from influencing the jury of a murder case.
The next few weeks passed slowly. Lorelei had started to slowly let Sean back in. She'd started off with text messages and the occasional phone call. She wasn't ready to go back to what they were, but she had to do something. Especially since she was going to be dropping a pretty big bomb on him. Lorelei was grateful that her pregnancy symptoms weren't too bad. Some morning sickness (which did not just happen in the morning) here and there, lots of nausea and fatigue. Her boobs had started to swell, and she had to buy some new bras. Something else Lorelei was grateful for was that Nick hadn't questioned why she was seeing an OBGYN. Lorelei was on Nick's insurance since she was only part time at work. Nick had insisted she go on his insurance until she had finished her Masters. Lorelei was happy she didn't have to worry as much, as Nick had pretty good insurance.
Lorelei had heard from Monroe and Rosalee that Juliette was starting to get her memories of Nick back, although she had asked that they keep it from him for the time being. That did change when Juliette insisting on seeing the trailer. Monroe hadn't wanted to, but apparently Juliette had threatened to leave Portland, forgetting Nick once and for all. It hadn't taken Nick long to agree to it. Monroe had taken Juliette to the trailer, which had only brought forward more memories and more questions. It was agreed that for now, they would give Juliette space, unless she asked for help.
One evening, Lorelei found herself at the spice shop with the rest of their little group, trying to find a way to stop a ziegevolk lawyer from using his pheromones to win a murder trial. They were looking through Rosalee's books for answers.
"Here's something about pheromone production using salamanders." Hank commented, showing the book to Rosalee.
"No, gotta be toads." Rosalee told him, as Monroe piped in.
"This one has a lengthy treatise on ziegevolk anatomy, but the author seems mostly interested in rehashing the old three versus four stomachs debate."
Nick looked at him in surprise. "That's a debate?"
"Oh, yeah." Monroe replied.
"There is something here in the ziegevolk's brain." Rosalee said. "The geruck gland, which is below the hypothalamus, is unique to the ziegevolk and is devoted solely to regulating the release of pheromones through the sweat glands."
"That's how they utilise their pheromones so effectively." Lorelei commented, as she moved closer to Rosalee to look at the book.
"What does it say about toads?" Nick asked.
"Nothing here, but it's pretty obvious that when they eat certain amphibians it super stimulates this gland and sends the production and strength of the pheromone into overdrive, so this is our target." Rosalee explained.
Hank looked at her. "So, how do we get to it?"
"We make a solution that neutralises that gland, which will stop him from producing pheromones, no matter how many toads he eats. Sort of a pheromone vasectomy, which will negate everything he's told the jury."
"Well, let's do it." Hank said.
"Ok." Rosalee said, glancing back down. "Oh, oh no. There's one unfortunate ingredient we need."
"Should have seen that coming." Monroe said, rolling his eyes.
"What is it?" Lorelei asked.
"Barry Kellogg's sweat." Was Rosalee's reply. Everyone looked at her, no doubt wondering how they were going to obtain it.
Hank is the one who voiced that particular question. "How the hell do we get that?"
"First we find him, then we make him sweat." Nick said.
