The evening air was cool, but the warmth of Taehyung's dorm room enveloped Jungkook like a soft blanket. They were sprawled out on Taehyung's bed, side by side, with a cozy blanket thrown over them. The soft glow of a desk lamp illuminated the room, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Taehyung felt Jungkook's heartbeat against his side, the rhythm calming and reassuring. They had been watching a movie, but now the screen flickered with forgotten images, their attention shifted entirely to each other. Jungkook's head rested on Taehyung's shoulder, and they were wrapped in a tight embrace, a comforting silence surrounding them.
"You know," Jungkook murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, "I've missed this. Just being close to you."
Taehyung smiled softly, brushing his fingers through Jungkook's hair. "Me too. I never realized how much I needed it until we started hanging out again."
Jungkook looked up, his eyes searching Taehyung's face. "It feels different now, doesn't it? Since we talked things through."
Taehyung nodded, his heart racing as he felt the weight of what he wanted to say. "Yeah, it does. I mean, it feels…. right. Like we're finally getting back to where we should've been."
Jungkook shifted slightly, his gaze serious. "You know, I've been thinking about us a lot lately. About what we are."
The air thickened with tension, and Taehyung swallowed hard, his palms suddenly sweaty. This was it. He needed to be brave. "I have too. And I…. I think I want to be more than just friends, Jungkook."
Jungkook's eyes widened slightly, a mix of surprise and caution flashing across his face. "Are you sure? I mean, is this really what you want, or is it just because we've been through a lot? I don't want you to feel like you have to do this out of guilt or loneliness."
Taehyung's heart ached at Jungkook's words. "No, it's not like that. I care about you, more than I realized before. I want to explore this connection, this bond between us. I want you, Jungkook."
The sincerity in Taehyung's voice hung in the air, palpable and heavy. Jungkook searched his eyes, looking for any hint of doubt, but all he found was a raw honesty that made his breath hitch.
"Taehyung…." Jungkook began, his voice thick with emotion. "You really mean that?"
"Absolutely," Taehyung replied, moving a bit closer, his heart racing. "I want to take this leap with you. I want to try being together, like really together."
A small smile broke across Jungkook's face, but he still looked hesitant. "Okay, but we need to take it slow. I don't want to rush into anything, especially not after everything."
"I agree," Taehyung said, relief flooding through him. "We can figure it out together, one step at a time."
Jungkook leaned in closer, and Taehyung felt the warmth radiating from his body. "Can I…. can I kiss you?"
Taehyung's heart soared at the question. "Yes, please."
In an instant, Jungkook closed the distance, his lips capturing Taehyung's in a gentle yet fervent kiss. It started soft, as if they were both testing the waters, but quickly deepened, their mouths moving together in a rhythm that felt entirely natural.
Taehyung's hands found their way to Jungkook's neck, fingers threading through his hair as he pulled him closer, their bodies pressing together. Jungkook's arms tightened around Taehyung, holding him as if he were afraid to let go, as if this moment could slip away.
