Chapter 7 Failsafe

It hasn't been long since the Team had dealt with the murders from Professor Pyg, they reported about the whole situation and needless to say he was impressed but he knew the Team except for Paul was uneasy when they first discovered the first dead victim and still are, but not so much from Paul advice. Black Canary noticed and was concerned for the Team, even though she allowed them to continue with the investigation, she couldn't help but worry for them.

But disaster has begun to once again come upon the young heros, as aliens began to invade Earth and were taking out the heros with ease. Even taking out the Man of Steel in space along with members of the Green Lanterns corps, Shazam, Captain Atom and Martian Manhunter, including the Dark Knight himself. Red Tornado and the remaining members of the League took action and the Team remains in the cave, if the League fails, they are the last hope of humanity. They witness on the hologram monitors of Gotham City, Metropolis, Star City, and Central City getting invaded by the aliens. Witnessing the fall of the Flash and Zatara.

The Magician girl felt devastated of witnessing her father gone in front of her eyes, as much as she was holding her feelings in it almost felt like her own world was shattering. She knew what she was signing up for to be a hero, in the beginning she was filled with excitement and determination to be part of the Team, but then it was slowly started to become intense when she witnessed the dead body, seeing how the people that were captured were terrified out of their minds of what they had to endure and see what Pyg did to the victims that became dollotrons.

Artemis and Miss Martian put their hands on Zatanna for comfort. They continue to watch the mother ship land in Smallville, Red Tornado notifies the Team that he is the remaining Leaguer and that now there is now the only hope for humanity. 

Aqualad: We are now earth's heros.

Everyone in the mission room heard footsteps and saw Red X walking to them, he wasn't with them at the time as he was handling something else.

Robin: So, what's on your end?

Red X: Fenrir is being deployed as we speak, helping out the civilians over the cities and taking out the enemy ships.

Aqualad: We'll need all the help we can get.

The vigilante nods in agreement as he looks and sees the damage of what the aliens are doing.

Superboy: So what are we waiting for, a theme song?

Aqualad: * look at Superboy* A strategy, earth's weapons are ineffective and it has been tragically clear a direct attack will not succeed.

The Boy Wonder detected something on his hologlove.

Robin: Checking satellite imagery.

He then deployed a holo globe so that everyone could see, they saw the red marks that the aliens began to invade all over the world.

Robin: Here's where the aliens are now.

Something that caught Superboy's attention as he pointed it out to the Team.

Superboy: This one get lost?

Robin zooms in on a red marker that was located in the North Pole and immediately knew where and what it was.

Robin: It's Superman's Fortress of Solitude.

This was surprising to Superboy and was confused that he never knew about it.

Superboy: Superman has a Fortress of Solitude?

Robin: Its power source must have attracted the aliens' attention, at least enough to send a scout ship to investigate.
